1 DxO Optics Pro v8.5 Release notes Windows System requirements Processor: o Minimum: Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 X2 or higher. o Recommended: Intel Core i5, AMD Phenom II X4 or higher. RAM: o Minimum: 2 GB or more. o Recommended: 4 GB or more. Graphics card: o For GPU acceleration support: A graphics card supporting DirectX 9.0c is required. 256 MB of video memory is recommended. o For OpenCL acceleration support: NVIDIA GeForce 2xx, 4xx, 5xx, 6xx (GTX 460 or higher recommended). ATI Radeon HD 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx (HD 58xx or higher recommended). To process RAW images larger than 20 Mpixels, a 64-bit operating system with 4 GB of RAM is strongly recommended. To process Nikon D800/D800E RAW images, a 64-bit machine is required. A machine equipped with a 4-core processor is strongly recommended. 2 GB available disk space (6 GB recommended) Microsoft Windows XP SP3 (32 bits only); Windows Vista (32 or 64 bits); Windows 7 (32 or 64 bits); Windows 8 (32 or 64 bits). Installation If not already present, the.net 4.0 Framework will be installed on the machine (it may take several minutes and a reboot is required). Installing the latest Microsoft updates for Windows is recommended before installing the application. For more information about coding lenses, see: Processing RAW files is still possible regardless of the lens used. When detached, the image browser can be reduced to the size of a thumbnail. The order in which images are processed and printed corresponds to the same order as in the image browser (instead of the order in which the images were selected). Attention, however: activating OpenCL can reduce performance if the graphics card is not sufficiently powerful with respect to the processor. The warnings about corrections not being visible at zoom levels lower than 75% are now displayed in the relevant sub-palettes. The messages that appears in the image browser are more explicit, indicating if a folder is empty, if a filter is activated, or if the folder content is still being downloaded.

4 Optics Modules that are already installed are now clearly indicated as such in the DxO Optics Modules download window. The space that the cache of previews and thumbnails occupies on the disk is now visible in the preferences (via a tooltip that shows the cache size when hovering over the slider). A gradient was added to the Exposure compensation, HSL, and Channel mixer to make their actions more predictable. Correction of artifacts that appeared in certain cases when applying DxO Smart Lighting at very high intensity. Enhancements since version Support for 2 new cameras: o Sony NEX-5R o Nikon 1 J2. All relevant thumbnails are updated when applying a preset to a selection of several images. Improved thumbnail rendering and improved rendering of the image in the Move/Zoom palette. Improved crop tool (the anchors are easier to grab when the image is displayed adjusted to the screen). In the output options, the image resolution can be adjusted without having to activate resampling. Numerous other improvements and bug fixes.

5 Known limitations For reasons of memory management, GPU acceleration is no longer available for 32-bit systems. On some graphics cards with little video memory, if more than two images are processed simultaneously with OpenCL acceleration, processing may fail. Reducing the number of simultaneously-processed images or disabling OpenCL resolves the issue. The distortion correction does not work properly for images shot with GoPro cameras whose original orientation has been modified by third-party applications. Improved trackpad pinch zoom (it is now easier to zoom to fit the screen and to zoom to 100% display). The presets drop-down menu now present sub-menus, and a preview of a preset s effects now appears when hovering over its name. Filters are now applied dynamically, and preserved even after the application is restarted. The resolution can be pushed to 1200 ppi instead of 400 in the output options. Numerous other improvements and bug fixes. Known limitations 32-bit Macintoshes and Mac OS X 10.5 are no longer supported. OpenCL processing is still not supported. The distortion correction does not work properly for images shot with GoPro cameras whose original orientation has been modified by third-party applications.
