GENERAL TimeTronics TimeTronics develops and offers professional sports time registration systems for both competition and training purposes. TimeTronics sports timing solutions have a reliable and strong technological backbone with references in more than 80 countries. Some recent references are the UK Trials, Asian Games (China), African Athletics Championships (Kenya), European Youth Olympic Festival Trabzon (Turkey) and countless local club/school meetings. Already more than a decade TimeTronics offers a total solution for track and field. We are offering timing solutions based on photofinish (MacFinish) for track events, and equipment collecting results of the field events. Results from both track and field can be communicated in real time to the stadium speaker, internet, broadcasting companies and much more. In every case our primary concern is to offer our customers a price affordable solution which generates an official result, combined with the most user-friendly interface in hardware and software for both local clubs/schools and international meetings at the highest level. 1.TimeTronics can offer you a Total Solution! Independent products Although each TimeTronics timing product can be used independently, the maximum efficiency is reached when different or all separate products are electronically linked to each other, so that it becomes a Total Solution. By means of electronic data communication between measurement equipment (f.e. photofinish, wind measurement, laser distance measurement, etc), result processing PC s (f.e. Athletics MeetManager software) and information output devices (f.e. scoreboards, information screens, TV, internet, etc), you avoid human typing errors, delays, and... perhaps a lot of frustration. For everyone of you We advise you, whether you are organizing a small local meet (with a corresponding budget) or you have to prepare yourself to organize an area championship that is broadcasted worldwide on TV, to look at all features and flexibility of our system, so also you can benefit of our Total Solution design. Let us know what you want, how and when you want to use it, and we will analyze your project together with you. That s what service is all about, even before you buy something. 4

GENERAL 2. Cabling or wireless 2.1 Mobile or fixed cabling Cables provide you the highest level of reliability, which you will surely appreciate during your meets! By means of one cable of only 8mm thick around the athletic tracks you can connect all TimeTronics equipment. We advise to have minimal 5 connection points around the track. Then you can connect at all strategic places all 5 possible devices that you need on the track; 1.Start detector and FalseStart 2.Photocells (Finish and split) 3.Timing scoreboard(s) 4.WindSpeed (anemometer) 5.FieldTerminal(s) Mobile Cabling System, 12wire cable reel, 80m P611 P582 You can choose between mobile connection points (=reels) or fixed underground cables with removable connection boxes. P700 Underground Fixed Cabling System, Underground Split box and connection box 2.2 Wireless start and wireless data communication Wireless is more practical than mobile or fixed cabling, in the case that your sports environment is not blocked or saturated by too many radios. Wireless access point P1009 Wireless interface P

GENERAL 3. Outdoor track Even when choosing a mobile cabling we recommend you to have minimal 2 pits and an underground pipe between them (with a rope!), close to the finish line, see picture below recommended minimal. Otherwise you have to pull a timing cable above the track which is not practical and visually less attractive. In case you choose for a fixed cabling solution you need to have pits and tubes as shown in the picture below under standard track. Please be careful if you have field events outside the running track. In this case you probably need an extra cable, therefore send your architect plan to TimeTronics for personal advise, an example can be seen on the picture below Extended track. Recommended minimal Standard track Extended track 4. Indoor track Also for indoor tracks we can offer you mobile and fixed cabling solutions. For indoor tracks we make 2 different groups. One with the finish lines 60m and 200m IN extension of each other and the one with the 60m and 200m lines NOT in extension of each other. Because the design of an indoor track can be very diverse we advise you to send us your architect plans so we can give you personal advise about manholes and tubes for the cabling. Finish lines in extension Finish line not in extension Here you can use 1 camera which covers both finish lines. Also a second camera can be used as backup photofinish for both finish lines. Of course you can use one camera for each finish line, which is more professional but much more expensive. In this case you need at least 2 photofinish systems. You cannot use one system as backup for the other finish line as their won t be enough time to switch the camera between the line. If you need a backup system then you need at least 4 cameras. 6

MACFINISH 5. MacFinish photofinish The idea of photofinish is, as the name indicates, to take pictures of the finish line when an athlete or object arrives. With a range from 100 to 2500 lines per second, the MacFinish sends the resulting picture of the finish line to the MacFinish PC. This allows the operator to read times with an accuracy of < 0.5 thousandth of a second. In our current camera version MacFinish 2D we use a 2 dimensional (2D) sensor, known from the digital photo and video market. All MacFinish cameras are ideal choices for athletics Track & Field, where you want to align this sensor line with the FRONT of the 5cm wide finish line. Key features: Automatic battery backup: Every MacFinish version is now standard powered with a battery pack, to have an automatic battery backup, if the 110/220Vac power fails. Remote Control: ALL versions have an optional remote control motorized iris function on the lens, for manual or automatic (sun) light control. Auto Jpeg: Automatic generation of photofinish picture when opening or closing photofinish image, f.e. easy upload for web applications Motorized Camera head: Optional remote control, to align the camera in horizontal, vertical, and spirit level direction. Transponder/Chip timing import: information from transponder/chip timing systems can be imported after the race LED timing scoreboards : Software for alphanumeric or graphic LED timing Multi Language: MacFinish software in different languages 2D preview: alignment of camera by video preview Correction start signal & finish alignment position Ethernet link with Athletic Manager Video Identification (VideoID) MacFinish Interface Box On the front (see photo) you see all 5 pins connections for start, finish, arrival remote control, serial ports and battery connections. The MacFinish Interface Box can make all connections to the athletic track with one 12pins connector on the rear, where you can connect your cable circuit. MacFinish photofinish system The MacFinish 2D 100 and MacFinish 2D 300 are photofinish systems comprising the MacFinish 2D camera and the Interface Box, and is fully battery powered

MACFINISH 5.1 MacFinish Club, Advanced, Pro and Elite configurations For both the Club and Advanced configurations, we offer you our MacFinish 2D 100 photofinish system. For the MacFinish Pro configuration we make use of the MacFinish 2D 300 system. Our basic photofinish configuration is the MacFinish 2D 100 Club. This configuration is the base for our MacFinish Advanced and MacFinish Pro configuration. The biggest difference between the Club configuration and the two other configurations is that the Club configuration makes use of a manual lens. The Advanced and Pro configurations make use of a 3-way motorized lens. The biggest difference between the Advanced and the Pro configuration is that the Pro configuration has internal camera memory and makes use of an Ethernet Connection from the camera to the PC, instead of USB 2.0. 9 MACFINISH MacFinish 2D 100 Club TimeTronics proudly presents the MacFinish 2D 100 camera. This camera uses all the knowledge from our MacFinish II generation, in combination with the latest technology in sensor development. Camera Computer connection = USB 2.0 For this camera we have chosen a USB connection. USB allows us to stream the photofinish data at a very high speed from the camera to the computer. A 5m USB cable is delivered with the system. The main advantages are: Enhanced alignment procedure: instant video image of the finish line Dynamic choice in vertical pixels versus capture speed All start signals are registered at any time Light sensitive and affordable lenses Fully battery powered Optional VideoID Aligning the camera? It s a piece of cake! One of the major advantages of the MacFinish 2D is the 2 dimensional video view to align the camera before the race. A perfect camera alignment can now be achieved much easier and much faster than in the past. Please note that the MacFinish 2D 300 has a different user interface of the camera alignment window. Of course you still have all the advantages of the two dimensional video preview. In the MacFinish 2D software we have improved the auto white balance function. Focus assistant Motorized Lens control Auto Iris button Auto Focus button Motorized zoom Video preview of finish area Green rectangle= Recorded area of the camera 3-zones of magnified view to assist you during the camera alignment procedure and focus

MACFINISH Minor camera alignment corrections even after the race! This functionality is only for MacFinish 2D 100 not for MacFinish 2D 300. With the MacFinish 2D 100 camera we are not capturing lines but frames and out of this frame you can choose the optimal line which corresponds with the finish line. Even more spectacular is that you can make small adjustments after the race! Of course your camera has to be sufficiently aligned before the race, to make sure that the required line is located within the frame window. In front of the finish line Front of finish line Rear of finish line Operators choice (selected by red color) You can choose the perfect finish line within the captured frame Finish line alignment control Every time you make a photofinish picture we save a camera alignment control picture. With this picture the operator can verify the correct position of his camera. This picture will also help TimeTronics or other experienced photofinish operators to train new operators. Based on this photo the correct recommendation can be given. This picture is also visible after the race, because it is saved inside the race datafile. Green rectangular = captured frame Red line = finish line chosen by operator 10

MACFINISH Never miss a start signal again! This functionality is only for MacFinish 2D 100 not for MacFinish 2D 300. Unintentional shocks on the start detector could occur in the past, which started the photofinish equipment too early. Sometimes there was even no start registered, if the photofinish system was not ready at the moment of the start. To prevent that, we record all start pulses. If needed afterwards, but also during the race, you can choose the correct start pulse. Your times on the photofinish picture, as well as the running times on the displays will be corrected automatically. The photofinish operator can press F6 at the gun start. This will help the operator to choose the correct start pulse in case several start pulses were recorded. All starts are registered Early start (MacFinish was not Ready) Late start (False signal from start detection, before the real start) Select another start while race is running Scoreboard runs at selected start time Recorded image has times related to selected start time Electronic time confirmation by operator s manual time stamp (F6) on keyboardbecause the photo Correction of start timing; during the race Because the finish operator pressed the F6 button at the moment of start he knows that the start pulse of 13:18:02 will be the correct one. He only needs to click on the correct start pulse and all times will be calculated with that start pulse. The start pulse will be coloured green to confirm the action of the photofinish operator and the results will be indicated as cxxxxx. Correction of start timing; after the race Original start pulse Start pulse chosen by operator Manual photofinish operator start pulse Not used start pulse

MACFINISH Vertical pixels, Frame rates and photofinish lines With the MacFinish 2D 100 you can dynamically adjust the number of vertical pixels to the capture speed of the photofinish according to your specific needs! MacFinish 2D 100: You can choose between 496, 600, 800, 1000, 1280, 1600 and 2048 pixels. MacFinish 2D 300: 1000 or 2000 pixels. If you have selected less than 1280 vertical pixels you can move up and down the zone of interest. The live video window will adjust itself according to the setting you have chosen for the vertical resolution. Results even when your race is not completely finished This functionality is only for MacFinish 2D 100 not for MacFinish 2D 300. Live readout of the photofinish image can help the photofinish operator to start analysing the photofinish image before all participants have finished. During the race, you can define the podium and send the data to the stadium commentator, broadcasting companies etc. The system will continue recording the image and will add the rest of the image instantly as you need it. 12

MACFINISH MacFinish 2D 100 Club software Hide or show the Result Table for IMMEDIATE results; selection of lanes, hip or ID numbers. Times automatically rounded according to the rules of each individual sport. The MacFinish software provides a Tools Window to edit the photofinish picture in light intensity and contrast by means of slide bars. This comes in handy when using artificial light and/or in the event of rapid changes in weather conditions. The picture can also be colour-calibrated automatically or manually via a calibration extension. By pinpointing the cursor (vertical time line), the computer associates the exact time and displays it in the left-hand bottom corner of the photofinish screen Zoom-selection from 25% to 600% in both horizontal and/or vertical ways by clicking on the appropriate arrows. Additional photofinish information: windspeed result (if required and if wind gauge connected), image memory, recording speed indication, date, hour and possible titling. The race and recording-settings can at all times be changed in the Parameter Window. In order to facilitate and to limit the operations between the races, all parameters can be pre-defined in the Preferences Window. The link between the Athletics Manager and the MacFinish software can be done by a serial connection or network connection. This way, all information goes over an Ethernet cable, no serial port or USB to Serial converters are needed anymore!

MACFINISH MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced (= Club + extra features) The MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced configuration consists of the MacFinish 2D 100 Club, plus extra features like a 3-way motorized lens, 12-pole cabling, pro mounting, extended result table, F4 import and an overview. The configuration is, like the MacFinish Club configuration, based on the MacFinish 2D 100 camera. MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced software The Overview Window offers the operator a complete overview of the entire photofinish picture. The operator can navigate through the picture by scrolling in the picture window or by simply selecting a part of the photofinish picture in the Overview Window, by simply clicking on it. The Result Table has some extra features such as: An automatic and live connection between the Athletics MeetManager program can be chosen so that the operator can not only read the Place & ID/lane & Time but also complete race information as athlete and team names. The Time column in the Result Table can be configured as follows: Absolute Time Relative Time To First Relative Time To Previous. Athletics Manager data import before a race Even before the race you can import (F4-import) the race data information from the Athletics Manager if available. With this functionality you can gain some extra time after the race and the stadium scoreboard can be driven AUTOMATIC to show participants and result lists! 14

MACFINISH MacFinish 2D 300 Pro and Elite (= Advanced + extra features) The MacFinish 2D 300 Pro and Elite configuration are based on the MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced functionalities, but MacFinish 2D 300 cameras have extra features like internal camera memory, Ethernet connection from the camera to the PC and double photocells. Our MacFinish 2D 300 has an Ethernet connection between the camera and computer which allows you to place the computer at a larger distance of the cameras. The camera itself is a complete professional photofinish system and produces photo-quality pictures billions of different colours, and a superb dynamic range in case of temporary recording of high contrast images or part of the image (shadow in some and full sun in other lanes). The MacFinish 2D 300 guarantees the race and time recording internally inside the camera, independent of what happens with the personal computer (OS crash, power down, ). We deliver it with the MacFinish interface box, for easy connections of all sensors and interfaces. This MacFinish camera has standard 256MB of internal memory, expandable up to 1 or 2 GB, and is therefore the ideal choice for professional customers at any level of national or international meet. The 2 dimensional (2D) sensor known in the digital photo and digital video market is now used to give you an user-friendly through the lens aligner. You will have a live video of the finish line to align the camera at the front of the finish line in seconds. The main advantages are internal memory of 256MB, optional expandable to 1 or 2 GB 3 way motorized lenses available : Auto focus - Auto iris - Motorized zoom Through the lens : enhanced alignment procedure: through the lens live video of the finish line Light sensitive and affordable lenses Fully battery powered Optional Video ID Max vertical resolution: 2000 pixels Max lines per second Standard 256 MB internal memory For MacFinish 2D 300 Elite Recording speed up to lines per second Standard 2 GB internal memory

MACFINISH MacFinish 2D 300 Pro Software The Time Offset Correction option allows the operator to give a predefined time to the first competitor, and which then calculates the race times for all following competitors. An extra option specially designed for cycling on the road, and which is protected from misuse for other sports. Through the Camera Window, the operator can adjust the optics (motorized iris control) and the remote controlled camera head (both optional). Basically, this allows him to align the camera and to do the fine-tuning of lens and camera head by sitting behind the computer, and checking the result in the Preview Window. Next to the lens and camera alignment control buttons, the operator has the ability to digitally adjust the RGB sensitivity of the sensor. As a result, the operator can easily and efficiently anticipate large changes in light conditions, and calibrate all colours. TP/chip Transponder and chip import Easily import the data from transponder or chip timing systems. Combine the advantages of automatic identification by transponder or chip systems with the visual, indisputable MacFinish image. Faster interpretation of the photofinish image will be possible. Auto Jpeg for photofinish publication Once set in the preference window the MacFinish software will create automatic a Jpeg file which you can use for web or other applications. Note: These JPEG files can be used AUTOMATICALLY by the Athletics Manager, to generate a website including those JPEG photofinish pictures. 16

MACFINISH 5.2 Video Identification of athletes All MacFinish configurations have the possibility to combine the configuration with our optional Video Identification system. TimeTronics was the first photofinish manufacturer in the world that made the full integration of a DIGITAL video recording system in a photofinish system! A high resolution digital video camera is placed 3 to 5 meters behind the finish line and connected with the photofinish computer. The finish video is automatically taken together with the photofinish image so the operator can concentrate on the race itself. Once the operator reads out the photofinish image the video file is imported in the MacFinish software. From this moment the MacFinish operator has the MacFinish image + a 2-dimensional video of the finish on his computer screen, to visualize the athlete bib numbers for a fast and correct athlete identification. The video window AUTOMATICALLY synchronises to the selected athlete in the photofinish window. Zooming in the video window is also possible. Advantages Automatic video capture, no additional action needed during the meeting! Video auto synchronisation with MacFinish image Highlight result table synchronisation with MacFinish image Video file conversion for use of video on internet 18 (with internal PC) TTC030 (with USB Cabling) TTC031

MACFINISH 1/ Simply point with the mouse to the first athlete in the photofinish window. 2/ You will automatically see the corresponding video picture. 4/ With a simple mouse click, you can ZOOM the video window. 3/ You can now press the mouse button to select the athlete ID from a participant list. 5/ Each click will automatically fill in the athlete ID (BIB number) and photofinish time in the results window. 6/ Each time you move the mouse, and point to another athlete, the correct video picture will automatically show up. 7/ If you want, you can play the complete video recording, use the pause and forward, backward buttons, or use the slider for video selection

MACFINISH 5.3 MacFinish options Lens calculation To have the best possible image, the right lens choice is very important. We only need from you 3 dimensions to enable us to calculate for you a suitable lens Lens choices for photofinish camera Remote Lens Control Manual Focus Assistant Bad focus Good focus 20

MACFINISH Manual lens for MacFinish Club configurations: Manual Focus Assistant A continuous scan of the focus (in the Camera Control window) gives you a real time feedback of the focus. The higher the value, the better the focus. And the better the focus, the sharper the recorded photofinish picture! A manual lens is standard delivered with a MacFinish 2D 100 Club configuration. 3-way motorized lens for MacFinish Advanced and Pro configurations For the MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced and MacFinish 2D 300 Pro configuration we deliver as standard an f1.2 or f1.8 lens, which needs less light than an f2.8 F-mount lens, which we used formerly for the MacFinish II generation. As in the past, TimeTronics will ask you questions about the typical setup of the camera, to define the most suitable lens for your purpose. A 3-way motorized lens allows you to have a motorized zoom, focus and iris. The motorized lens for MacFinish 2D 100 Advanced and MacFinish 2D 300 Pro is handled by the MacFinish software. You have the possibility to remotely adjust the zoom, focus and iris. You can even automatically control the iris and focus on the finish line

MACFINISH We have 2 versions of camera poles: A pole that you can fix into concrete. A mobile system with a triangle metal base plate which you can put in place during the meeting and remove afterwards. P233 P326 P233 Platforms give you the same advantages as with a ceiling mounting Start detection by start detector, starting device or push button (training) We have chosen to use a double start detection system or push button (for training). This way you can manually or automatically start the time of a race or training. The double start sensor detector (P633) contains 2 full start sensor circuits. (double) Start Detection, for use on a pistol (Pistol not included) Electronical Starting Device, only for use with False Start III P633 Low cost P896 Start push button Electronical Starting Device P138 Professional P978 Wireless start by GPS TTC216 Only as option for MF 2D 300 You now have the chance to make use of a wireless start. The system uses GPS (Global Positioning System using satellites) to record the super accurate start time. This way both the starting device and your MacFinish photofinish work with the same synchronized daytime. You will have an even higher accuracy than with the wired system!

MACFINISH TimeTronics also introduced an electronical starting device! In combination with a portable sound system (Low Cost Portable Receiver/Professional Portable Receiver), you have a professional start system without a classic gun. In addition, you can also buy the microphone & audio transmitter that you can see below. You can combine this transmitter with the Portable Receivers. A Microphone & audio transmitter Even if you are not buying and using our professional FalseStart system with integrated sound amplification (see pages 28-29), you could be interested in acquiring only a sound amplification system to make sure that all athletes can hear the starter correctly. Not only to listen to his voice (the start commands), but even more important, to hear the starting shot without delay. Such a delay is caused by the fact that the speed of sound is relatively low (343 m/sec), so you want to make sure that all athletes in a sprint race have a FAIR start = hear the start shot immediately, without delay. For this purpose you can buy a starters microphone + wireless audio transmitter. This microphone can be a tie clip type, that can be easily clipped onto a shirt or tie, or the starter can use a headset type. TTC066 B Professional Portable Receiver This type of receiver is professional, large and powerfull. It contains a large internal battery (up to 8 hours) and an audio output of 50 Watt. For easy handling on an athletic track, it contains 2 integrated wheels and a retractable trolley like handle. The user has full control over the sound output, by means of separate controls for individual and master volume, tone controls, and mixing. - Weight 18,4 Kg. - Dimensions 685x440x380(wxhxd)mm. TTC061 24

MACFINISH Wired or wireless When you ve decided whether you want to have a start detection or an electronical starting pistol, you can choose if you want to use it wired or wireless. TimeTronics can provide you both a wired as a wireless version of the systems. The choice is up to you! The Portable Receivers are standard wireless. If you want to have it wired, just let us know! Backup - photofinish start signal P754 With a special cable (P754) you can split the start signal from the start detection giving you not only a perfect start on your main photofinish system, but also on your backup photofinish system Arrival detection by photocells or push button TimeTronics has 2 types of photocells, single beam and double beam. The single beam version is mostly used by clubs with regional competitions. If you want to take a step higher, we can recommend you our double beam photocells. The advantage is that the scoreboard time won t be stopped when a arm/hand blocks only 1 beam. Both beams have to be interrupted at the same time to stop the running time on the scoreboard. With the arrival remote control (P024) you can control the recording of a photofinish image: Off: No recording when photocell beam(s) interrupted Auto: Recording when photocell beam(s) interrupted Manual: When pushed down the photofinish will make a recording even when photocells are not interrupted. OR + Low Cost, Single beam Professional,Double beam Arrival Remote Control TTC084 TTC082 P024 (included with each MacFinish system)

TRACK 6. The FalseStart detection System Judging in a split second whether or not an athlete starts sooner than 100 thousandths of a second after the starting shot (= current IAAF s false start definition) is no longer a question of pure visual judgement! The FalseStart detection system continuously and dynamically measures and analyses changes in the amount of exercised power on the starting blocks. Each thousandth of a second, a real-time analysis is made. Software within the False Start detection box disposes of a number of menu selections to modify the momentary settings of the systems. Sensitivity of the modules can be preset and is automatically secured on a fair basis for all athletes. 30 TRACK 7. WindSpeed ultrasonic anemometer + optional Scoreboard Mandatory by the IAAF TTC300 TTC410 Operation Principle The TimeTronics WindSpeed applies specifically the principle of electronic and sonic wind speed measurement. An ultrasonic wave is sent from a minuscule loudspeaker to a tiny microphone, both of which are housed in the measuring arm. Sound travels through the surrounding air, at a speed of 343 m/s. By measuring and registering the difference in speed between the sonic waves that are travelling along with the wind and the ones which are travelling against it, we can determine the wind velocity very precisely. WindSpeed Scoreboard (TTC410) Wind display size: W64cm x H16cm, mounted on 1 tripod. Indicates the result of the WindSpeed measurement, in m/s. Green or red digits, according to a homologated or not homologated (> + 2.0m/s) wind measurement result. Mr. Viktor Trkal and Mr. Etienne Wante, IAAF technical committee members, commented : The last demonstration was the new sonic wind-gauge WindSpeed (no propeller no tube). The errors of the others were clearly shown. We think, that this sonic windgauge is the best of all we have ever seen. 3 sided WindSpeed Scoreboard TTC417 WindSpeed ultrasonic wind-gauge 2005 MANDATORY for international meetings 2009 MANDATORY for WORLD RECORDS According to the IAAF Competition Rules, Rule 163, Wind Measurement, 9. 34 ATHLETICS MANAGER 9. Athletics Manager (Software) EVERYBODY WANTS TO HAVE LIVE INFORMATION! WHAT? Athletics Manager is a software program (database), running on a central computer network, in which all information of the meeting is centralized. It s a system to better organize your meeting: faster and correct. WHY? Athletics Manager is there to prevent that even a single person would leave the stadium, with the feeling that the athletic meet could be compared with a football match of which no one knew the final score after the match Download our new Athletics Manager full brochure on >> Sports >> Athletics >> Products Discover our NEW Athletics Manager design and interface 34

ATHLETICS MANAGER TimeTronics rewrote its existing Athletics Manager software. The application makes it possible to have a faster and more user-friendly athletics administration than before. Main advantages: Very user-friendly interface (70 new features) Easy access and overview of different events Easily add and remove athletes of the event list Integrated search-function (athletes, events,...) Advanced Help-function Support website Server and different Clients Range of data input-possibilities Possibility for agegrading User-friendly interface In the new Athletics Manager you can change the font size in five steps from smallest to largest. In addition to that, the new Athletics Manager allows you to easily drag and drop your different screens to the position of your choice. The size of the windows are also adjustable and you can choose which screens you want to open in your interface or leave closed. The content columns (f.e. Name, Team, Date of birth) in the windows (f.e. Athletes) can be placed in different orders. All these features make our new Athletics Manager very user-friendly and easy to adjust to your specific needs and way of working. Easy access and overview of different events With the new Athletics Manager, not only the central computer has an overview of the different events, but also the so-called clients. These Client-computers can easily access the different events and synchronise live data. The most complex control settings (f.e. point calculation), are managed by a superuser. The other users can be given custom-made rights. The Client-computers therefore give you the flexibility to work with multiple persons on multiple computers in a network. Anybody can do everything on any computer, as long as he/she is qualified for that and has the according licences. This way a client computer can also be used to insert live field result data, just as the FieldTerminal (see p.40-41). Search function A search function is included in every screen of the Athletics Manager. This way you can easily search athletes, events, etc. when needed. Advanced assistance When you have a question regarding the Athletics Manager, there are several ways to help you. The easiest way is to push the F1- button. A pop-up window will open and present you the relating page of the manual of the Athletics Manager. A second way to help the user is via our support website. Via this website you can access demo videos, contact information, user manual, etc. Demo version Download the demo folder on our website it contains a complete demo meet. You can run this demo package from a memory stick, so this way you do not have to install this software on your PC to freely test all these features. Try it out!

ATHLETICS MANAGER 9.1 Data Input (before the meeting) Athletics Manager can be used at different kind of events such as team competitions, individual meetings, etc. TimeTronics can offer you a custom-made solution. To enter your meeting data in the software, such as the athletes file, timetable, etc., you can use a.csvfile that you can import into the Athletics Manager software. The local organising committee has to enter meeting data in the software before the meeting starts. Event specifications Using an existing, or creating your own athletic event list with the names, specifications, etc of ALL possible athletic indoor and outdoor events, for each individual (age) category and gender. You can of course start with the standard (English) file that we deliver with this software, which is based on the IAAF list of athletic events and their specifications. Later you can modify this data file, with extra or modified (national) events, conform to your national athlete age categories and the national rules. Meet information Entering general information about the meeting such as, date, name of meeting, etc. Athletes file Creating a database with the names, birth dates, category, gender, team or country name, athlete ID (bib number) etc for all athletes. Most of the organizers create this list in Microsoft Excel and simple and quickly import it from a text file. Timetable A chronologic list of all athletic events of the meeting. Participants file Entry by means of the keyboard OR import from a data file on disk. By entering all this information before the events: Related data processing will be facilitated. Human errors are reduced. Stress is reduced. Results will be available faster. etc. The Start Lists can be printed out, and the stadium speaker (and others) can use any web-browser to view the electronic version (WebFiles) of the participant lists. 36

ATHLETICS MANAGER 9.2 Data Capture (during the meeting) MacFinish photofinish results The Athletics Manager will automatically and LIVE receive the results of race events from the photofinish computer. Participants of the running events are easily entered, making use of the professional database functions. All the heats are composed, lane distributions are edited. FieldTerminal field event results The Athletics Manager will automatically and LIVE receive the results of field events from the FieldTerminal(s) (see p38). These results can also be entered manually AFTER the event on the keyboard of the AM computer. The connection between the central Athletics Manager computer and the different FieldTerminals is done by our standard 12- wire cabling. Similar to the race events, the participants of the field events are entered and edited in the Athletics Manager program, and then printed out on paper. 9.3 Data Processing and Output (during and after the meeting) The Athletics Manager calculates the result sheets and distributes this information in various formats: on paper, scoreboards, websites (intranet and internet), TV,... 1/ Paper Printing out a partial or complete result on paper during and/or after the meet

GENERAL FIELD 10. Field Results (data entry system for field events) Why do you need FieldResults? FieldResults are there to make it yourself and the spectators easier to collect and follow the competition results of the field events (f.e. high jump, long jump, shot put,...) of your Athletics meeting. The Field operator will be able to easily insert the correct results of the athletes in realtime on the field. Everytime the operator inserts a new result, the computer will send the result to various channels, such as a FieldScoreboard, the Athletics Manager (your main competition software program), the computer of the stadium speaker, the internet, etc. These channels will not only receive the result, the computer will also recalculate the place of the athlete in realtime. TimeTronics now offers you 3 kind of FieldResults-processors: the FieldTerminal, the FieldTablet and the FieldComputer. The FieldResults in combination with the AthleticsManager software are designed for accurate, fast and effective field event scoring and administration. Integration FieldResults with all kind of Field Scoreboards: Fast and automatic display to the public, of next participant, results, ranking, team, name,... Live printout of entered and/or measured results on integrated (optional) printer for verification by official (only with FieldTerminal version) The FieldTerminal version is powered by the standard rechargeable battery pack (12V), for easy handling and fast setup Advantages: WindSpeed is connected and driven by the FieldTerminal or FieldTablet; no extra official required for the operation of the wind-measurement Laser Distance and Height Measurement System is connected and controlled by a FieldTerminal; no extra work or errors by typing results The FieldTerminal (12VDC), the FieldTablet and the FieldComputer, as well as all other options (EDM, FSB, WS), are battery powered 40

GENERAL FIELD 10.1 FieldTerminal (only for AM software version 2012) The FieldTerminal is an electronic device used by the officials/volunteers in the field, allowing them to easily enter, edit and confirm all field event results. TimeTronics has designed this instrument which is very userfriendly so that officials/volunteers can be trained in only a few minutes of time. Field Scoreboards and printer can also be integrated allowing the spectators, the press, the speakers and the athletes to view the results in real time. TTC242 excl. printer TTC240 incl. printer TTC241 The front panel of the FieldTerminal provides the user with 3 major functions: wireless version Easy-to-use keyboard for data entry (only numerical 0-9 and function keys) with printer LCD display for user interface (athlete information, attempt nr, ranking,...) Printer (optional) for live printing of participant list and order, as well as the entered results 10.2 FieldTablet (starting from AM software version 2013) The FieldTablet is our Club solution for live registration of the field event results. The FieldTablet will communicate wireless with the central AthleticsManager system and distribute the results to the requested interfaces like scoreboards and live results on internet. The FieldTablet can run on its own during the field event and therefore does not need to have a connection during the field competition with your Athletics Manager software. P1007 FieldTablet WIFI-network in the field In order to have a wireless connection between the FieldTablet and the Athletics Manager computer, we have introduced a WIFI access point for FieldTablets and wireless interfaces to scoreboards, the windgage, etc FieldComputer (starting from AM software version 2013) The third option to run your FieldResults on, is the FieldComputer. This way you have access to all the available data. Just as the Athletics Manager Server, you can have access to the Athletics Manager program on your FieldResults Client-computer. The FieldComputer has the advantage to have access to more data. You will less have to communicate with the Athletics Manager-operator to start your field event or change some parameters, etc. Note: Make sure you have enough client licenses to use the number of FieldComputers that you want to use! P1008 FieldComputer

GENERAL 16. Information on TV Photofinish images If you want to show a photofinish image on television you have 2 options: If you want to view the screen of the photofinish operator, you do not need extra software. Installation of the MacFinish software is enough. Presentation key: if you opt for a presentation key (option in the MacFinish software), you can see the image in FULL SCREEN on TV with the possibility to show logo(s) and pictures. Running Time To see the running time on TV (see bottom right of screen), you need the MacFinish photofinish software + the running time software (RT software). The running time software and MacFinish software can be installed on 1 computer (with 2 video outputs) or on 2 different computers. In the last case, each PC has its own video output, and the photofinish operator cannot accidentally modify the video output to TV. As the running time software is automatic, no operator is required for this computer. Hardware configuration and price offers available upon request. NEW feature: show names, results and wind measurement of the 3 podium places Professional video graphics (PVG) Option 1 TimeTronics and the professional video graphics company receive the list of participants and other information from the local organization committee before the start of each event. During the meet, race results are recorded live by the MacFinish photofinish. These results are live sent to the PVG company, by one or two outputs of our Athletic Manager software. example by Microplus Option 2 The main difference with the first concept is that now TimeTronics takes care of the FULL Meet Data Administration and not the PVG company. Athletics Manager is a software program running on a central computer, in which all information regarding the meeting, participants and the different events are centralized, and live transmitted to the PVG. Commentator Information System (CIS) For those who want a more complete solution, TimeTronics or the videographics company also offer professional CIS (commentator information service). CIS can also be used by coaches/ LOC/ public/ This makes it possible to see the start lists and results LIVE on an INTRANET WEBSITE. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us

GENERAL 17. Radio Communication If you need a voice communication between: Starter(s) + Finish line + photofinish Athletics Manager operator(s) and Field events operator(s) Call room and Meet Administration room(s) other group(s) of your meet. P043 We can deliver you professional radio communication set(s) from Kenwood. We can deliver you also earplugs, headsets, carrying cases, etc. P750 P Computer & peripherals Computer(s) We can offer you both desktops and laptops depending on your needs and requirements. Printer(s) We advise you to have minimum 1 printer (Laser black & white or color) with the Athletics Manager PC to make printouts of start list and results. A second printer (colour) to make printouts of photofinish pictures is further advised. Some customers with larger budgets install extra printer(s), f.e. in the call room, near the victory podium, in the press room,... Serial port(s) Depending on your choice regarding desktop or laptop. You could need one or more USB to serial converters, to send serial data to scoreboards, WindSpeed or FieldTerminals. Network hub and switches Once you want to interconnect several pc s you will need a network infrastructure to have communication between the computers. Please ask our advise to design your network. UPS (Uninterruptible power Supply) Especially when you work with desktop PC s, we advise you to use a UPS system. This will prevent that you would waste time or lose data in case of a main power failure (110 or 220 Vac) Calibration We advise our clients to have a calibration of the photofinish every 3 years. At the same time we can also check the general condition of the system. Because we find this very important, you will see that the cost for the calibration is limited. And if you do this in off peak season it won t effect the planning of your meeting. We can guarantee you that we ll do everything to send your system back in the shortest timeframe possible.

GENERAL 20. Warranty TimeTronics offers standard a 12 month warranty period, which can be extended for free with another 24 months. User manuals as pdf (on CD included) on paper (1 copy included) We have an entire range of operating instructions and user-friendly manuals for our products and configurations. In the manuals, we dilate upon the handling of our configurations in an operational environment, in other words, on the tracks. We include a lot of tips and tricks, which are based upon our many years of user experiences (see p 52-54). 23. Installation and Technical notes We can supply our customers with installation and technical notes, optional adapted to your specific (indoor or outdoor) stadium

General Timing Solution 50 The General Timing Solution consists of 2 pairs of photocells, one pair for the start and one pair for the finish. These photocells are connected to the General Timing Solution control box on which a standard timing scoreboard and scoreboard remote control are connected (not included). The General Timing Solution is ideal for the game, race and training of any kind of sport e.g. low cost horse show, shuttle run (soccer), contests of skill for dogs, athletics, soapbox races, inline skating down hill, A pc is not required because the scoreboard does the timing. Included in standard configuration: Batteries + charger (110/220Vac-12Vdc) 4 Tripods with L-profile GTS control box 2 Photocell pairs Optional 6x15 scoreboard (TTC408) or 6x25 scoreboard (TTC420) Led Scoreboards see p31 Functions Start & Finish controllable by photocells and/or pushbuttons Battery operated Different versions of scoreboards TTC810 TTC811 with photocells range 2.5m with photocells range 15m Example

GENERAL 26. Universal Timing Solution You can time everything from a game to a race! Timing is one of the most important components of sport games. The more professional you want to become, the higher the importance of exact timing. Using the universal Timer Box with switches, pushbuttons and photocells allows you to do timing in any possible way.. A user defined software package will time and process the data to your needs. 27. Athlete Performance Testing The start analysis & timing system is an excellent tool to get a better insight in the performance level of athletes and above all, to improve it. This trainers tool can electronically measure start reaction times (starting modules) and split times by means of infrared photocells. Optional, this standard pair of photocells can be extended so that different timing gates can be set up. All data is sent towards an electronic box, which will print out the data on paper. This system can be used for training, not only for athletics but also for other sports such as soccer, volleyball, etc., in this case only (multiple) sets of photocells will be used. Start Analysis & Timing: Start reaction times Electronic split times Double lane = two athletes Results immediately on printer Extension to 10 measurement positions possible, each identified by number. TTC700 Athletics Contents of configuration (TTC700): Electronic timing box with built-in printer 2 Start modules with velcro fixation straps (not included in TTC705) One cable to both start modules 2 Photocells + 2 reflectors (=double gate) + 3 Tripods Battery + charger (110/220Vac to 12Vdc) Start button Carrying case + user manual Options Starting blocks Set of extra pairs of photocells + 2 reflectors + 3 tripods

GENERAL 28. FAST-project Better Sprinting through Scientific Support! The FAST-project was started by Prof. Christophe Delecluse and TOP coach Rudi Diels in 1989 to improve the understanding of sprint running performance. Actually, the project is still running. The main challenge of the project was to close the gap between scientists and coaches by performing high quality scientific work resulting in direct and relevant feedback for coaches and athletes. Measurement and analysis of: Start Action Sprint times Sprint velocity Sprint acceleration Stride length/rate Other unique aspects of FAST 52

GENERAL Powered by KU Leuven The scientific success of this project is illustrated by several publications in international peer-reviewed journals. The sports related success of the project is illustrated by the continuing interest of the coaches/ athletes from all over the world (USA, Jamaica, Italy, The Netherlands, Singapore, Canada ) and not in the least by the international success of some Belgian Sprinters who participated in this project. Best known are: Patrick Stevens (200 m Olympic Games final 1996) Kim Gevaert (4x100m relay Olympic Games silver 2008, 4x100m relay World Championships bronze 2007, 60m World Indoor Championships silver 2004 bronze 2006, 100m and 200m European Championships silver 2002 gold 2006, 60m European Indoor Championships gold ) Many others Recording start action Horizontal force-time characteristics are recorded by means of a calibrated load cell mounted on the back of both starting blocks (mounted on ball-bearings) All battery operated Recording start action Horizontal velocity is calculated from positiontime data recorded by means of a laser beam, oriented towards the lower back of the runner. 400 laser-positioning measurements/sec millimeter accuracy!!

REFERENCE Athletic Timing Services Professional solutions for the most accurate timing are possible for races or training purposes: TimeTronics offers it all.
