The class will teach you the basic stitching skills and a progression of all over quilting designs intended to help you develop control of the machine. Free Motion Quilting with Stencils and Templates Make It, Take It Instructors: Pat Barry and Jill Therriault, 3.5 Hour Demonstration and Hands On This class is for quilters who are ready to progress to custom quilting using stencils for blocks, borders and sashing as well as templates to improve accuracy for outlining and stitch in the ditch. This class is not just for experienced quilters. Some stencils can also be used by beginners who need a path for their all over free motion quilting. She is passionate about providing her students the tools and education to feel confident and successful. She teaches efficiency and effectiveness (without compromising quality!) so her students can go home inspired, enabled, and energized. Georgia always provides very detailed, step-by-step handouts. Having sewn garments for 10 years and being a proud perfectionist, piecing and quilting were right up my alley! I was also fortunate to be on the heels of the quilt revival of that era, with new patterns, tools and techniques hitting the market every day. My love of teaching and sharing this craft with others soon had me formally instructing anyone interested and when the new-fangled long arm quilting machine became popular, I figured I had better keep up with the times and learn that too. I was able to purchase my own Long Arm in 1998 and have been having fun ever since with my Stitching in Heels quilt for hire business. Besides cutting up fabric, piecing it back together and deciding how to quilt it, what I enjoy most is showing others how easy Hand Guided / Free Motion quilting can be with a few well placed tips and a little practice. With my background in traditional quilting, I love attempting to make my patterns imitate hand quilting in style and finished look. And with the popularity of Modern quilting, I am trying to keep abreast of the new pattern trends and look of the Modern quilts to be able to pass that on to my students. As a busy quilter, grandmother, and active person overall, I have only taught locally, but I have had many happy Long arm owners leave my class knowing they, too, can leave the pantograph behind and begin designing their own patterns!

Deb gave into her longing for a Gammill in 2005 with the purchase of her Statler Stitcher. An award winning quilter, and pattern designer she has been published in several national magazines. Currently living in Northwest Montana, Debbie s greatest quilting joy comes from helping other quilters reach their full potential. As a Statler Certified Creative Studio Instructor she provides private training around the country as well as open classroom instruction.
