1 Holiday season is just ahead! We hope the weather will be getting cooler soon here in Spring, TX. Do you have those holiday gifts finished? Finishers will start cutting off around the 1 st of October to allow plenty of time to finish all the stitched pieces. Let us know if you have questions. Check our class section for an ornament finishing class on Saturday, October 5 and 12. Fabric Flair The Fabric Flair trunk show is here. Come see all the very extensive range of fabric. There is fabric with designs, over dyed, fabric with silver threads, and even pink fabric with stripes. Remember we are always here to help you. All you have to do is ask. We can change threads or fabrics to make this your personal project. CLOSED Thursday, November 28 OPE Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30 We Keep You In Stitches Page 1 of 12

2 OPEN Tuesday, December 24 CLOSED Wednesday, December 25 OPEN Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, December 26, 27 and 28 Merry Christmas Orange Cloud Cheesecake Crust 1 ½ orange scones, crumbled 1 tablespoon sugar 3 tablespoons melted butter, unsalted Cheesecake 2 lbs. cream cheese spread (reduced) ½ cup light sour cream 11/2 cups sugar 4 egg yolks 1 tablespoon grated orange zest 2 tablespoons orange juice 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract 6 egg whites ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar We Keep You In Stitches Page 2 of 12

3 Directions Crust Coat a 10-inch spring form pan with cooking spray. In a food processor, pulverize scones and sugar to fine crumbs (about 1 1/2cups). With the machine running, drizzle melted butter through the feeding tube just until crumbs are evenly moist (mixture is crumbly). Turn mixture out into prepared pan. Using your fingers, evenly distribute crumbs over the bottom and slightly up the sides of the pan, gently pressing them into an even thickness. Wrap foil around the outside of the bottom of the pan to help prevent any leaks from the cheesecake. Cover and freeze for at least 1 hour or up to 2 days. Cheesecake Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar until smooth, about 3 minutes. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Beat in orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice, and vanilla. Using clean beaters and a clean bowl, whip the egg whites and cream of tartar on low speed until combined, 1 minute. Increase speed to high and whip until mixture forms stiff peaks when beaters are lifted, 2 to 3 minutes. Gently fold into the cream cheese mixture until just a few fluffs of white remain. Pour mixture into the frozen crust, smoothing the top. Bake until puffed, lightly browned and set on sides but still with a little jiggle in the center, 50 to 60 minutes. Prop open the oven door, turn of f the heat, and let rest in the rest in the oven for 1 hour. Cake will rise in the oven, but then will settle back down upon cooling. Remove to a wire rack and cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or up to 3 days before serving. We Keep You In Stitches Page 3 of 12

4 The orange scones can be replaced with 11/2 cups of butter cookie crumbs and ¼ cup of melted butter combined in a food processor. Stitching Tips: Working Over Two Fabric Threads You may use the sewing method instead of the stick- stab method when working over two fabric threads. Although the stick- stab method is never incorrect. To use the sewing method, keep your stitching hand on the right side of the fabric (instead of stabbing the fabric with the needle and taking your stitching hand to the back of the fabric to pick up the needle). With the sewing method, you take the needle down and up with one stroke instead of two. Remember we are here to help you. All you have to do is ask. KNOWLEDGE! Come learn with us! The more you know the more you realize how little you know. Getting together with people who share your same interest can be a rewarding event. It is fun to learn with others. Needlework is a relaxing activity and very special feeling when complete. Learn each step at a time and build a ground and knowledgeable stitching base. You can carry your stitching wherever you go. Classes must be paid at the time of reservation. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified 48 hours prior to the date to receive store credit. Should you need a private class, call for an appointment. Private classes are priced according to supplies and length. If you have a question, just ask. We Keep You In Stitches Page 4 of 12
