Payments for all classes are non-refundable and are nontransferable unless we are able to fill your place. Essential Class Info: 1. Wiin 1 week of booking we will you e list of materials required (all are available to purchase from e shop) and cutting out instructions. Please contact us ASAP wi any queries. 2. Purchase all materials before coming to e class. 3. Apart from Starting Out classes, it is essential at all cutting out is done at home (unfortunately we do not have e facilities for cutting out during e class). 4. It helps to bring your own sewing machine but if you need to use one of ours please let us know. 5. For all classes (apart from Know Your Machine) you will need to know how to use a sewing machine. 6. To save time we advise at you wind your bobbin and read your machine at home. 7. Arrive 10 min early so you can get set up. It will give you more time for learning e sewing techniques e class is aimed at. 8. During each class you will make e item we have designed and to e dimensions we have specified. By booking a class you agree to all e conditions set out above. Lizzie Totally Tote Bag If you love bags is is for you. Make your own fully lined bag wi basic machine appliqué decoration. Materials required 50cm x 115/137cm of main fabric, 50cm x 115cm/137cm of fabric for lining and appliqué, read, 25cm Bondaweb. Ellen Storage Baskets The perfect storage solution and so pretty too! You choose which size to make small H 15cm x D 14cm, medium H 21cm x D 19cm, Large H 29cm x D 24cm. Door Stop Doorstops are great for adding a personal touch to a room. In is class you will sew a doorstop wi carry handle and add some simple machine appliqué. Materials required 2 co-ordinating fabric fat quarters, 1kg bag of rice, 100g soft polyester filling, read. Oven Gloves Always so useful and a wonderful gift as well. Sewn wi heat resistant wadding, burnt fingers will be a ing of e past. Materials required 25cm x 137cm (or 40cm x 112cm) fabric, 40cm x 112cm fabric for lining, 20cm x 225cm cotton wadding, 60cm x 55cm Insul-Bright insulated lining, 2.5m bias binding, read. Sewing Machine Mat A handy and padded sewing machine mat wi useful front pockets, as well as detachable pin cushion and scrap basket. How To Back A Quilt New dates coming soon!! Piping, Bias Binding, Zip and Concealed Zip Spend a couple of hours learning how to do four of e most useful sewing techniques. Materials required scrap fabric, 50cm piping cord, 1m bias binding, 7 zip, 8 concealed zip, read, zipper foot and concealed zipper foot for machine. Roman Blind Roman blinds are simple yet effective window dressings. Due to space and time constraints you will make a small sample roman blind and we will show you how to measure up, work out how much fabric you need. Materials required 70cm x 70cm main fabric, 70cm x 70cm lining fabric, 70cm Velcro, 4 plastic rings, 2.5m blind cord, read (we will have packs available to purchase). Curtains A great way to dress a window and are simple to make. Due to space and time constraints you will make a small sample curtain and we will show you how to measure up, work out how much fabric you need and sew a lined curtain wi header tape. Materials required 70cm x 70cm main fabric, 70cm x 70cm lining fabric, 70cm curtain tape, read (we will have packs available to purchase). Free Motion Machine Appliqué Learn how to draw wi your sewing machine. We will show you e basic techniques for creating so many beautiful pictures. Materials required background fabric, fabric scraps, contrasting read, light weight iron-on interfacing, Bondaweb, free motion embroidery foot for machine. How to Use a Pattern If you would like to start dressmaking, is is a brilliant foundation class. You will be shown how to prepare a pattern for use, understand e symbols and get ready for cutting out. Materials required sewing pattern (not essential). How to Sew Jersey/Stretch Fabric Sewing wi stretch fabric can be daunting but it needn t be. We will show you how to cut out, stabilise your fabric, and tackle seams, facings, hems and so much more. Materials required scraps of jersey fabric, read, 50cm hemming tape. How to Back a Quilt Backing and binding a quilt top is e final stage before your quilt is ready to use. This class will teach you e quilting and binding techniques at you will use over and over again. Cost: 40 Block of e Mon Mon 3 Saturday 17 March 10am to 2pm Block of e Mon Mon 4 st Saturday 21 April 10am to 2pm Materials required up to 5 fat quarters, 16 square wadding, 16 square of backing fabric, read, sewing machine, scissors, cutting mat, rotary cutter, 6 x 24 ruler, 12½ square ruler. Block of e Mon On e ird Saturday of every mon Sue will be teaching a new technique to create a block, wi suggestions on how to quilt is block. At e end of e class you will leave wi e skills you need to complete is block and a pattern to create a second block using ese skills. You can create up to 16 blocks and is quilt will be large enough to cover a king size bed. Unlike many BOM courses, you will not be left wi a quilt top and no idea how to turn is into a quilt: piecing and quilting your blocks mon by mon means you will have it completely finished by e end of e course. Mon 3 (English paper piecing): Simply Sewing (Me-Time!!) Happiness is... a bit of social sewing where you can meet up wi or make new friends, help each oer wi your projects, share ideas and inspiration, and help yourself to tea/coffee and biscuits.
