Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this pattern. ll instructions use a ¼" seam allowance unless otherwise stated. ll fabrics are sewn right sides together, unless otherwise stated. 3 Cutting Suggestions To create the envelope pattern, you will need to assemble the pieces of pattern included in the piecing templates to create the envelope flap -1 and front panel -3. Cut an additional square of paper10-1/2" tall x 16" wide which will be the middle piece -2. Tape all three pieces together to create the envelope template or overlap them on the fabric, so there are no gaps when you cut it. Yardage below is diagrammed on 40" width selvage to selvage. Use 1/4" seam allowance. Directions ssemble Front Detail: 1. Mark the diagonal lines on Fabric 1 where s will be placed lign s over the markings on Fabric 1, with fabrics RS together. Stitch triangles in place. Selvage Fabric 1 is directional, so pattern pieces will need to be placed in this layout. If using a non-directional fabric, follow the layout for Fabric Trim and fold s so they are RS out and press the seam. Pin or baste the sides of triangles into place with a 1/4" stitch. Selvage ssemble Case: Fabric Stablizer 4. ttach stabilizer to Fabric 2, with pieces WS together. aste around the edge 1/8" in from the raw edge to hold in place

4 5. Match the Step 3 and Step 4 pieces RS together and pin in place. Stitch along edge 1/4", leaving a small opening near the side of the envelope. Trim, along the edge, being careful to clip around curved lines. Pull fabric through opening and press. You can handstitch the opening closed or press and leave unstitched (it will be sewn in the next step). 6. Fold the envelope front up to meet underneath the flap, creating the envelope shape. Then stitch along the sides. If you want a more finished look, you can continue to stitch along the flap. dd the Closure: 7. Mark where you want to place your button hole on the envelope. Using a buttonhole stitch, sew a buttonhole onto the flap. Use a liquid seam sealant (Dritz Fray Check ) to protect the seam. Once it is dry, carefully cut open the buttonhole. Use the open buttonhole to check and mark where the button will go. Stitch button into place. 4
