2 Project Overview Note: 1/4 yard of fabric will make multiple bunny bags; however, instructions are written (for simplicity) to make just one bag. Supplies: 4 fat quarters in Easter prints (or scrap pieces) Bunny Templates (found at the end of this section) Sulky Thread in complementary colors Soft n Sheer Cut-Away Permanent Stabilizer KK 2000 Temporary Spray Adhesive Straight pins Ribbon in complementary colors (45 in length, cut to 15 per bag Polyfill 2

3 Instructions Reminder: measurements below include a 1/4 seam allowance unless otherwise noted. TO MAKE THE BUNNY EXTERIOR: First, determine if you will be personalizing your bunny bag: YES: using the Template, trace the shape on the front of your desired fabric. Spray the wrong side of the fabric with KK 2000, and press it down onto the stabilizer. If your scrap fabric does not extend to the edges of your embroidery hoop, pin in place at the edges. Embroider a name in the center of the bag. Once embroidery is done, cut out and remove excess stabilizer. Using the same Template, cut three additional pieces from your three remaining fabrics. NO: using the Template, cut four pieces from each of your four fabrics. Sew a button hole into one of the bunny bag pieces (the one that will become the front of your bag if you embroidered a name, this is the front). The top of the button hole should be centered 1/3 from the top of the bag. 3

4 Instructions Determine which fabric piece you want for the back. Place right sides together with the front piece, and sew together with a 1/4 seam allowance keeping the top open. TO MAKE THE BUNNY INTERIOR: Repeat for the two remaining pieces; place right sides together, and sew together with a 1/4 seam allowance keeping the top open. Using the Bunny Ears Template, determine whether you want to make long ears or short ears. Using the desired template length, cut four pieces from each of your four fabrics. Pair up the pieces, placing right sides together with a 1/4 seam allowance, keeping the bottom of the ears open. Stitch along both sides and bottom to create interior & exterior of bag 4

5 Instructions - continued Ears turned right-side out, bottoms left open and lightly stuffed. Trim around the top of the curved ear, removing some of the bulk fabric. Turn right sides out and lightly stuff with batting. TO ASSEMBLE THE BUNNY BAG Place the two bunny bag pieces right sides together by turning the exterior bag right-sides out and placing inside the interior bag. Align the corners and smooth. Place the ears in between the exterior and interior layers, right sides together with the ears pointing down on the side that will become the BACK of the bag. Align all the raw edges (ears, interior, and exterior) and pin/clip in place. Front (no ears) Back (ears between two layers) 5

6 Instructions - continued Sew 1/4 from the top, starting just before one of the corners on the front and sewing from the front around the back (securing the ears), and just past the corner on the front. Leave a 3 gap so you can turn. Begin and end sewing on the piece that will become the front to ensure both ears are securely sewn into place on the back. Turn right sides out, pulling the ears through. Turn the raw edges (from the 2 gap) in, and pin. Sew 1/8 from the top to both close the gap and secure the top of the bag. 6

7 Instructions - continued Sew a second line of stitches below the first so that your button hole is nested between the two lines. Adjust the distance from your 1/8 line as needed so that the button hole floats between the two lines. This creates the channel for the ribbon. Thread a ribbon onto a safety pin, feed into the button hole; and feed through until your safety pin comes back out through the button hole. Fill with treats, tie and enjoy! 7
