Purdue University is an Affirmative Action institution PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST Sponsored by the Putnam County Photography Club Did you take a great picture during the 2014 Putnam County Fair? Want to show everyone your work? The Putnam County Photography Club is sponsoring the contest! Pictures can be of ANY and ALL activities surrounding the fair from preparing for the fair, judging of exhibits, parade, auctions, carnival or just plain old fun at the fair! Rules: Open to persons age 18 years and older and a resident of Putnam County or a member of a Putnam County Extension Homemakers club who is a resident out of county. Limit of two (2) entries per person 1-5x7 (on 8x10 mat board) and/or 1-8x10 (on 11x14 mat board). Include name and description on back of mat board. All photos must be on designated size mat board (not more than 3/16 thick); not cardboard or thin poster board. No frames allowed. Color or Black/White entries will be accepted. Entries must be labeled on the back with name, address, and description of photo. All prints must be made from the original exposure made by the exhibitor. Entries due on Tuesday, July 14 th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Adult Open Class Building, East Side at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Awards are as follows: $10 for Champion in 5x7; $5 for Reserve Champion in 5x7; $10 Champion in 8x10; $5 for Reserve Champion in 8x10. Awards will be given on Friday, July 24 th at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to be present if you win. Winners will not gain any points toward the Top Open Class Exhibitor Award given in the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall. Thank you for exhibiting! Pictures that are entered will not be returned and will become property of the Putnam County Homemakers Association and may be used in future Fair Programs, articles and publicity regarding the Putnam County Fair. INDIANA STATE FAIR August 7-23, 2015 To enter items in the Indiana State Fair Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall, you must enter before the July 30, 2015 deadline. There is an entry fee for each section. The theme is of your choice. 2. The size should be any NON 12x12 layout, 1 page only, in a page protector. 3. You may NOT use a purchased scrapbook kit. 4. You may use any number of photos you like. 5. Embellishments must be manually made and cannot be purchased. 6. The Title is not considered an embellishment. 7. You must use 3 pieces of coordinating patterned paper and 1 sheet of solid card stock. 8. The base paper/card stock shall be White, Black, or Beige. (There should be 5 pieces of paper total per page.) 9. All journaling must be hand written. 10. Photos and papers used in this contest entry cannot be used in other scrapbook category entries by the same exhibitor. 11. One entry per person. 12. Entries should be turned in on Tuesday, July 14 th from 4p-7p. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR TO BE FAMILIAR WITH AND UNDERSTAND ALL RULES CONCERNING EXHIBITS. IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES, YOUR EXHIBIT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND NO AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN. GENERAL RULES 1. Entries in the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall are limited to current residents of Putnam County or must be a member of Putnam County Extension Homemaker Club, if a resident out of county. 2. Exhibits must be made or prepared by the exhibitor and shown in his/her own name. Exhibitors must be 18 years of age or older during the calendar year. 3. Exhibitors may make entries in as many categories as they desire; but only one entry may be made in any one class, except in Photography where entries are limited (see Photography rules). Entry will not be accepted for articles for which there is no classification. An article may be entered in one class only. Article will be judged for skills of particular category. Article should have been made within the past two years and never exhibited at the fair before. 4. Judges shall not award prizes to unworthy exhibits whether there is competition or not, nor shall they give awards on articles incorrectly entered or incorrectly named. Judges may move item to different category if necessary. 5. Judging will be based on workmanship, preparation of articles for exhibit, suitability for purpose, beauty and originality of design as well as harmony of colors and materials. 6. Craft items in pairs or sets may be exhibited, but only one may be judged. 7. All paintings, drawings, wall hangings, wreaths and framed needlework, etc., must be ready to hang. (wire hanger preferred) 8. Care of items will be taken, but the fair will not be responsible for articles damaged, lost or broken. 9. Judging, of all exhibits will be closed to the public except for Crafts II ( ) (th is year s Open Judging Category 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 20th, during the fair. Specific Rules by Project: 500s-Artwork-All paintings and drawings must be no larger than 3 feet in any direction. 700s-Recycle or Scrap Craft-Made from recycled or left over supplies. Include written description of before and after. 800s-Scrapbook and Cards-Scrapbook exhibits should include a two page spread in page protectors. Judging will be based on neatness, creativity and originality. (Scrapbook entries should include some journaling). 900s-Photography- All photos must be on designated size mat board (not more than 3/16 thick), not cardboard or thin poster board. NO FOAM BOARD. No frames allowed. Contestants may enter up to five pictures in Photo I and up to five pictures in Photo II for a total of 10 photography entries maximum per person. Each exhibit must be labeled on the back with name, address, class and category entering. All prints must be made from an original exposure made by the exhibitor in the past two years. The exact same photo cannot be entered in more than one category. Categories 910 & 920 must have original photo on back of matboard.

This contest is open to Putnam County residents or member of a Putnam Co. Extension Homemakers Club only. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. Members of the Putnam County Extension Office and persons in their households are not eligible. The product entered must be made by the individual entering the contest and may not be entered in any other section of the Putnam County Fair. All entries must be accompanied by the recipe (including crusts, fillings and frostings) on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper. All recipes become the property of the Adult Exhibit Hall Special Events Committee. Each entry must contain flavor of Chocolate. The judge should be able to taste the flavor of Chocolate in the finished product. Persons may enter only one item per category. Categories for entry are: Cookies- 13 cookies; Cakes- 1 cake or 7 Cupcakes; Pies- 1 pie and Breads (yeast or quick bread) 1 loaf, ring or braid or 7 rolls or muffins. Cream pies or any product requiring refrigeration, including cream cheese frosting will not be accepted. Raw eggs and uncooked milk are also unacceptable. Home canned ingredients are not permitted. All eggs and milk must be cooked or baked in the product. The container used at check-in is considered a donation and will NOT be returned. Anyone found not abiding by ALL RULES shall forfeit any awards and will be disqualified. Entries will be accepted Thursday, July 23 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. *Open judging of entries will begin at 12:30 p.m. *Awards will be presented for 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th place winners in each of the four categories. *The Overall Grand Champion, selected from the four first place winners, will also receive an award. *The Reserve Champion will receive a $50 cash award donated by Jack Dalton in Memory of Flossie Alexander and Dorothy Toney. *An award will be given to the best entry among first-time participants by the Darwyn Nelson Family in Memory of Ila Nelson. *Winners will be announced and awards presented on Thursday evening July 23, during the auction which begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall. *All entries will become the property of the Bakers Best Contest and will be auctioned to the highest bidder. *Proceeds will be used for the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall s operations and improvement projects. *Winners will not gain any points toward the Top Open Class Exhibitor Award given in the Adult Open Class Exhibit Hall.

This category will be judged during Open Judging on Thursday, July 2 3rd by a celebrity judge. Each entry should consist of 6 candies, all the same type. One entry per person.
