Let us know which things you can t live without. I am grateful to the designers who have released previews of their new releases. I know there s varying opinions about that, but I for one appreciate being able to devote time and space to many spread out over several weeks time. And I know there are still a number of wonderful surprises for all of us. Left, Jane Tindall 1864 $20. You first saw this in the August issue of SANQ as a part of Vickie s article on her collection of cow samplers, and the publisher said they were inundated with requests for its reproduction. And thanks to Tanya s diligence and attention to detail, who has lovingly charted and stitched Jane s sampler, now you, too, can stitch it. We couldn t decide which photo to show you, so here s both! The bottom, grayer one, is closer to the original and to the reproduction, but we like the warmer one. So with the help of iphoto, you can see how a change in the ground fabric can change your sampler. The reproduction is stitched on 40c Weeks Confederate Gray with AVAS Soie d Alger and Gloriana s Flormiell. Below, two more from Vickie/NeedleWorkPress: Lovest Thou Me $5, a wee sampler that even I could finish ~ and wait until you see the little wooden sign fashioned after an actual antique in the NeedleWorkPress ephemera collection! Here's a preview below.

PAGE 2 More From NeedleWorkPress Eliza Tuck s Huswife (for non-needleworkers, a little case for sewing materials and for other articles of female work), handmade from exquisite fabric scraps, and some with Lakeside s 32c linen inserts for personalization. These are very limited at this time. Color preferences are limited as well. Price ($65+) depends on materials ~ with linen inserts, slightly higher. New Threads Right, beautiful new threads from Crescent Colours: Belle Soie s Ivy League, Maple Leaf, and Weathered Vine and in the cotton overdyes, Barn Door, Old Money, Ora s Iris. Not only are the threads lovely and exquisite to stitch with, but don t you just love their names? Even more beautiful in person ~ the camera s eye just couldn t capture them, either in shadow or full sunlight, so you ll just have to see them in person.

Left, Rainbow Butterfly Pin $28 is a kit with 1 pin in each kit along with the 40c silk gauze, the Dinky Dyes hand-dyed silk, the glass frame, beads, unique paper and extras that make each pin a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Just add a 4 hoop and magnifier and you are ready to create! Instructions also include an idea for stitching all the initialed butterflies into a sampler.

I ve been looking forward to seeing this one because a number of you have already pre-ordered it, so it must be out there somewhere. The quote is a favorite of Tracy s by Gilbert and Sullivan, perfect for Halloween time, she says, when things are truly sometimes not what they seem: Things are seldom what they seem, Skim milk masquerades as cream. Perhaps you recognize the center of the design ~ it s Tracy s ornament in this year s JCS Halloween issue. Fjord Ponies $18 we ve shown in an earlier edition, designed by Tracy s mum, who designs Scandinavian style knit sweaters and accessories, and that s how this design began... in a sweater. Aren t we lucky to be able to stitch it!

This kit was introduced in Nashville and sold out before I reached their suite to order, and yesterday an came saying they re able to get more of the pumpkin case and so they are re-releasing this adorable kit. All materials are included to make a pumpkin-shaped pincushion, scissor weight, and needlebook ~ and store it in its own pumpkin case!
