3 Phaco instruments With an external diameter of 13 mm, an internal infusion line and a feather-light weight of only 47 grams, the all-titanium Hexadisq phaco handpiece has set the standard since Oertli phaco instruments and accessories are inter-coordinated components of the SCT (stable chamber technology) system. They have been especially optimised for CMP (cool micro pulse) phaco. CMP signifies the lowest possible energy, no burns, a stable anterior chamber and a clear cornea on the first post-operational day.

We grant a 12-month warranty on phaco handpieces. Phaco tips and irrigation sleeves need to be replaced more frequently. Worn phaco tips cut poorly and generate bubbles, worn sleeves result in reduced infusion with poor chamber stability and an increased risk of burns. Replace tips and sleeves after 50 operations! Single-use sterile tips, sleeves and test chambers are contained in the sterile VV621011A (CataRhex) and VV630011A (OS3) phaco packs. They are not available individually. Phaco instruments 6

7 Irrigation / aspiration Quick Tip I/A instrument This elegant instrument with slender ergonomic styling is manufactured entirely in titanium and weighs only 13 grams. Tip changeover and turning is a sterile process and only takes seconds. TITANO I/A instruments are designed to complement Oertli operating equipment perfectly and will guarantee an extremely stable anterior chamber. Particular attention has been given to the design of the I/A ports. The tips glide gently and smoothly through the incision. A linear override function in both the CataRhex and OS3 units ensures highly efficient capsule cleaning and cortex aspiration.

8 Quick Tip system Thanks to the advanced fast-lokking mechanism, all Quick Tip tips can be exchanged in a matter of seconds whilst retaining sterility and turned to your preferred position. The I/A tubes can be attached and disconnected without a twisting action. This allows a rapid changeover between the phaco and I/A handpiece. 11 Bipolar diathermy Elegant and slender diathermy handpieces, together with attachable tips that use platinum electrodes, combine to make Oertli diathermy a precision instrument for extremely wide-ranging applications: micro and macro-haemostasis, capsulotomy and, recently, glaucoma surgery. In 1972, Oertli was the fist company to introduce bipolar diathermy in the eye. The determination of frequency and material, in collaboration with Prof. Klöti, continues to prove itself optimal right to this day, both for haemostasis as well as for tissue dissection. All Oertli operating systems are equipped with a HF control generator to facilitate extremely precise regulation and modulation of diathermy output. The CataRhex and OS3 systems also support the Instant Diathermy function.

14 Vitrectomy cutters Oertli makes no distinction between an anterior and a posterior vitrectomy. Responding exactly to its pedal controller, the electrically-operated SUS cutter will make a precise, single cut action and operate at speeds of up to 1200 cuts per minute as an efficient high-speed cutting tool. The pneumatic Twinac cutters are even faster. SUS cutting heads feature a variable opening and are all manufactured with a hand finish. This explains the unique quality of cuts. Oertli set a solitary standard in 1971 for the quality of cuts with the Klöti stripper. The unmatched quality of cuts provided by this instrument lives on today in Oertli high-speed vitrectomy cutters. While vitrectomies have become a common surgical procedure, Oertli cutting quality continues to remain unique.

This method allows for particularly precise control over the vitrectomy process, ranging from a single cut through to 2500 cuts per minute (dependent on the control unit). An additional advantage of the Twinac s dual action is the loss of vibrations commonly associated with models equipped with return springs. The ergonomics are outstanding. An economical solution, however which requires careful cleaning after every operation. Cutters that have become blunt must be disposed of. Resharpening is not possible. Triple blade system. 18 Light instruments Oertli TITANO multiple-use light instruments unite excellent ergonomics with simple cleaning and a long service life. The proven design, featuring a flexible silicon sleeve for the protection of the quartz fibre bundle, provides high pliability. Autoclavable. The light sources for Oertli operating equipment are fitted with an adaptor able to accommodate multiple-use light instruments as well as singleuse light conductors (micro-connector). It is possible to connect two light instruments, each with a micro-connector, simultaneously.

20 Reprocessing and sterilisation All products marked with a are supplied in a sterile condition and are designed for single use. They must not be reused. All other products can be treated and sterilised in accordance with Oertli instructions TN "Instructions for reprocessing of products designed for reuse". The procedures described in TN have been validated in accordance with ISO The procedure stipulated consists of steam sterilisation in accordance with the standard methods detailed in EN ISO (EN554/ISO11134) and EN13060/EN285. Sterilisation at 134 C / 20 min is permissible. Container recommended for sterilisation: VE Sterilisation container for all Oertli TITANO instruments, with platform and silicon mat, plastic, with labelling plates.
