He has acted as counsel in many domestic and international arbitrations both ad hoc and under rules. He has also served as joint arbitrator, sole arbitrator and chairman in international arbitrations under rules, particularly ICC, LCIA and DIAC. Ruth Stackpool-Moore, Managing Counsel, HKIAC Ruth is an Australian and UK qualified lawyer working as Managing Counsel of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). She oversees the administration of arbitrations and other forms of dispute resolution proceedings at the HKIAC and works to promote the use of Hong Kong arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution worldwide. Prior to joining the HKIAC, Ruth worked with several international law firms in London, Sydney and Paris advising on a wide range of proceedings including international commercial arbitrations conducted under the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICDR, VIAC and WIPO rules of arbitration as well as associated national court proceedings in civil and common law jurisdictions. She also provided advice regarding the formulation and drafting of arbitration and dispute resolution clauses in commercial contracts, including multi-party and multi-contract situations. Ruth graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Economics

4 (Social Science) in 2001 and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Hons) in She was admitted as solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South of Wales and High Court of Australia in 2006 and in England and Wales in Christopher Grout, Registrar, Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre Christopher has been based at the QICDRC in Doha for just over one year. As Registrar, he is head of the Registry that services both the Qatar International Court and the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Tribunal. He also manages the Dispute Resolution Centre which, over the past year, has played host to a number of arbitrations and mediations where, in the case of arbitrations, the seat has been the State of Qatar. In addition, the Qatar International Court exercises judicial oversight where the seat of the arbitration is the Qatar Financial Centre and so this too falls within Christopher's remit. More specifically, Christopher is responsible for the management aspects of the Centre and in particular the case management of cases that come before the Court and Tribunal. Where required, Christopher will provide procedural directions in relation to cases and, along with his team, will be available to assist parties with any queries they may have in relation to the workings of the Centre. Zachary Sharpe, In-house lawyer at Hyundai Heavy Industries CO.Ltd Zachary Sharpe is an in-house lawyer at Hyundai Heavy Industries where he manages a number of international arbitration and disputerelated matters connected with the shipbuilding, offshore and construction industries. Prior to joining Hyundai Heavy Industries, he spent several years working as a senior foreign attorney at a maritime law firm in Seoul focusing on shipping, shipbuilding, insurance and trade disputes. Christopher To, Executive Director, Hong Kong Construction Industry Council Christopher To is the Executive Director Construction Industry Council, a statutory body in Hong Kong tasked among other functions to advise and make recommendations to the Government on strategic matters, major policies and legislative proposals, that may affect or are connected with the construction industry, and on matters of concern to the construction industry. As former Secretary-General of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, he managed to elevate Hong Kong's status as the regional dispute resolution hub of Asia by increasing the number of international dispute cases being referred to Hong Kong for amiable resolution as well as creating the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre, a body that has gain international prominence within the dot.com community as a reliable, trustworthy, independent and reputable entity that manages domain name disputes. In recognition of his outstanding leadership and his contribution to the community, in 2001 he was honored as the youngest Director of the Year in Hong Kong and in 2007 he was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Christopher holds qualifications in computing, engineering and law. Aasma A. Khan, Chief Legal Officer, Tameer Holding Investment Aasma Khan's career path already had shape and direction when she left the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1997 with a J.D. degree and Honors, coupled with a Certificate and Honors in International Law. She completed a Certificate in International & Comparative Law the same year from Columbia University Law School. Khan has put her advanced legal specialty to excellent use working for more than eight years in the Middle East as a Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. As the Chief Legal Officer of Tameer Holding Investment since 2009, her responsibilities are extensive. More than oversight of the legal function, Khan helped to turn around the perception of Tameer's brand while reducing the costs of onerous contracts and mitigating their inherent risk. Along the way, her ability to pinpoint the right legal questions had a profound impact on litigations and the demand for integration of legal and business strategies to broaden market opportunities. Khan has managed the explosion of litigation and arbitration in the property sector on behalf of Tameer with a combination of commercial strategies, dispute resolution, mediate solutions, and traditional litigation and arbitration. Jason H.J Kim, Regional General Counsel, LG Electronics Jason H.J. Kim is a Regional General Counsel of LG Electronics, heading the legal team for the Middle East and African division of the global electronics company. Jason has been heavily involved in helping LG to expand its business in more than 79 countries and has first-hand experience implementing legal and business strategies in this developing region. As the first LG Regional General Counsel in the MEA Region, Jason has also for the past 3 years spearheaded the organization and implementation of LG's legal team in the MEA Regional Headquarters. Richard Briggs, Executive Partner, Hadef & Partners Richard is a recognised leader in commercial dispute resolution in the UAE and has practised contentious business law in the UAE for most of his career. His areas of specialisation are in the litigation and arbitration fields, particularly with reference to maritime, trade and insurance law in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East area. Prior to working at Hadef, Richard trained with Clifford Chance in London and Dubai, later joining another UAE firm as a partner. He graduated from the University of Warwick (LLB) and the College of Law, Guildford (United Kingdom). 5 Robert Karrar-Lewsley, Barrister & Senior Associate, Al Tamimi & Company Robert is a barrister and Senior Associate in the arbitration team of Al Tamimi & Company (DIFC office). Nassif BouMalhab, Partner, Dispute Resolution, Clyde & Co Nassif is a trial lawyer (barrister and solicitor) specialised in commercial dispute resolution. Prior to joining Clyde & Co's MENA dispute resolution group based in Dubai in 2009, Nassif practiced commercial litigation out of the Montréal office of a leading Canadian law firm (one of Canada's seven sisters). Dr. Habib Al Mulla, Vice Chairman of DIAC Board of Trustees Dr Habib is one of the UAE's most highly respected legal authorities.
