3 Your presenters Stephen Lister, Partner Bond Dickinson Stephen is a partner in Bond Dickinson's Commercial Disputes team. His work involves representing claimants and defendants in High Court proceedings and arbitrations. He has a wide range of litigation experience advising clients on energy disputes, competition complaints before the European Commission and European Courts, pension disputes, warranty claims and shareholder disputes. Roger Isaacs, Partner Milsted Langdon LLP Roger is a chartered accountant, insolvency practitioner, mediator and partner responsible for Milsted Langdon's office in Bristol. He is technical director of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants, an experienced expert witness and a regular speaker and on accountancy matters. Richard Hitchcock QC, Call 1990 Outer Temple Chambers Richard is a commercial silk specialising in financial trusts, banking and FS advice and litigation. Within that broad field, occupational pension schemes are a mainstay of his practice, but litigating (primarily defending) banking claims, recently those with a LIBOR link, occupies a significant proportion of his current workload. Equally at home in Court, in consultation or on paper, testimonies from 2014 have ranged from irritatingly clever (opponent) through not quite as funny as he probably thinks he is (different opponent) to I was so glad he was on my side (professional client). Nicholas Pointon, Call 2010 St John s Chambers Nicholas has a commercial and chancery practice. His particular areas of expertise include commercial and contractual disputes, private international law, domestic and international arbitration. Nicholas has particular experience of offshore commercial disputes, having been instructed in large scale litigation in Jersey, New York, Miami, Russia and the Caribbean, as well as numerous European jurisdictions. He regularly advises on issues of jurisdiction, applicable law and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards. He also teaches the laws of contract, land and trusts to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Bristol. Ross Fentem, Call 2003 Guildhall Chambers Ross is a commercial and property barrister, with particular expertise in all aspects of banking and finance law. He is recommended by Chambers UK (2013) as one of only 4 practitioners on the Western circuit for banking and finance work. His client base ranges from large institutional bodies, including banks and governmental bodies, to individuals and sole traders. His expertise and experience includes: sale of goods and supply of services, banking and finance, commercial fraud, agency, franchising, restrictive covenants and restraint of trade, company / corporate and shareholders' disputes, insurance coverage and claims and IT disputes. Although principally a litigator, Ross takes the view that many commercial disputes are susceptible to sensible resolution out of court, and often acts for his clients at mediations and round-table negotiations.

4 Your presenters Charlie Newington-Bridges, Call 2011 St John s Chambers Before becoming a barrister Charlie spent 15 years working in the investment banking industry. He was a director of ABN Amro s European Equity Division. Prior to that he worked as an equity analyst at JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. He advises on banking and financial services disputes and since joining St John s Chambers has advised London and Singapore based hedge funds, banks as well as financial advisors. He has advised and litigated on behalf of customers of financial institutions in relation to a wide-range of financial products and instruments. Charlie also has a broad commercial/ chancery practice involving contractual disputes, sale of goods and supply of services, company and shareholder disputes, insolvency, negligence and property. Nicholas Lee, Costs Lawyer and Director of Costs, Paragon Costs Nick is a qualified Costs Lawyer and has specialised in dealing with legal costs since Nick is also accredited to provide CPD training on costs. His costs experience enables him to properly assess the merits in any claims for costs and therefore provide educated and realistic advice to his clients. Nick has acted for a variety of clients, nationally and internationally, dealing with litigation of all types. Nick is not one to shy away from technical issues and is very capable of raising or defending complex points of law. Nick is a keen advocate having conducted Applications, CCMCs, Detailed Assessments and Appeals. He has appeared before District Judges, Regional Cost Judges and Masters. Kroll Ontrack Richard Shepherd, Call 2001 Albion Chambers Richard has practised from Albion Chambers for 12 years, specialising in employment and inquests. Recommended in Legal , 2012 and 2013, being described as firm in cross examination and persuasive in his submissions professional clients from across the UK, benefit from and rely on Richard s knack of making complicated factual scenarios seem very straightforward. Richard is a regular contributor to legal publications and lectures widely in his specialist areas, including on behalf of the Employment Lawyers Association.
