This year we are celebrating at Mendocino College, in the recently added Student Plaza. It is at this event that the Chamber will be honoring six local businesses for their hard work in the past year. If you have not placed your nominations for each of the award categories, please do so by filling out the nomination sheet on page 7 of our newsletter. In addition to honoring those who receiveawards, the celbration event is held in appreciation to all of our members. The Chamber would not be able to continue our services without our supportive membership. What s Inside S wine County BBQ will be catering this event, serving a delectable BBQ menu. Beer, wine and champagne will be available for purchase at our Chamber hosted bar. The Chamber is pleased to announce that live music will be performed by GRAY! Join us and enjoy an evening of celebration, networking and appreciation! Tickets are $45 per chamber member or $50 per non chamber member. Tables are available for $400. A table includes a complementary bottle of wine and your business name advertised at the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office (309 E. Perkins Street). 2 MEET OUR AMBASSADORS Kristina LeBrett was born and raised in Mendocino County, growing up on her family s small farm in Hopland. Kristina graduated from Ukiah High, where she was active in sports and 4-H. After graduation Kristina went on to study at Mendocino College. Kristina is now an Account Executive/ Marketing Consultant for Bicoastal Media, where she enjoys meeting with local businesses and helping business owners grow and succeed through on-air advertising. Kristina has been with Bicoastal Media for just over a year. Kristina s goals for her future are to become more involved in her community, starting with becoming a Chamber Ambassador, with the desire to grow within the Chamber, one day joining the Board of Directors. Kristina hopes that as she grows she can do her part to help the community grow as well. Mendocino County has been Kristina s home for 23 years, and she is excited totake on a role that helps our community reach its potential. Kristina would like to thank the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce for giving her this opportunity to become more involved with our local business and residents. CALL TO ACTION WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN AMBASSADOR? We are continually working to expand our Ambassador Program. In doing so, we are seeking local business professionals to join our committee. Our ambassadors represent the Chamber at civic functions, after hours Mixers and local business functions. The Ambassador Committee is the public relations arm of the Chamber. The members of the committee are responsible for assisting in generating new members and maintaining relationships with existing Chamber Members. This service provides a great opportunity for our members to network with one another along with other local professionals. Hosting a Chamber Mixer allows your business to go beyond networking and begin to promote your business to our local business community. Chamber Mixers can be held for a variety of reasons, such as, showcasing a new office, celebrating a grand opening, displaying a new product line, or to simply let the community know what business does. If your business is interested in hosting a Chamber Mixer please contact the Chamber, and we will begin planning your Mixer!

3 ONLINE EDUCATION with The Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce If you missed our March workshop How to Stop the Revolving Door and Hire Long Term Employees, you can still be up to date with legal hiring practices by utilizing our online education courses. We suggest taking the Hire Legally or How to Hire Peak Performers course. The Chamber offers many online human resource training for all businesses. Each class can be utilized by all employees and there is no limit on the number of time a course is taken. There are classes in English and Spanish to ensure that all employees and employers are able to successfully complete the course.
