2 2013 NationalTechnical Conference and Exhibition Horizontal Drilling and Beyond February 26 & COX CONVENTION CENTER Oklahoma City Final count -1,170 people registered for the 2 day Event! This is far and away more than the AADE/MC Chapter has ever seen for our Annual 1 day Symposium by nearly 3 times! Neither the weather or the false alarm fire drill could dampen the spirits of the Drillers! If you were not in the main room on Tues. afternoon you missed a very enlightening Forum for the Student Sections (see below) with several Drilling Pros fielding questions from students on what is expected of a Drilling Engineer! Then, that evening, during the Networking Reception, you missed the Student Section Lawn Jenga competition! 1 st place went to UNO; 2 nd place to CSoM; 3 rd place to OU and 4 th place to WVU. Thanks to Nick Goree for constructing the Lawn Jenga sets and Emceeing the event! BTW..the following Student Sections were represented at this year s AADE-NTC: Colorado School of Mines, Louisiana State Univ., Missouri University of Science & Tech.. Montana Tech., New Mexico Tech., New Orleans University, OSU, OU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa University, Univ. of Fairbanks, Univ. of Louisiana Lafayette, Univ. of Wyoming, West Virginia University If you were not in the main room on Wednesday, you missed out on seeing Charlie Kusiak receive a Meritorious Service Award for serving the AADE/MC Chapter for 14years as our National Chapter Rep. along with Geree Wald Morton receiving the Benny Manuel award for having served effectively in a support role to the Technical Conference Committee of the American Association of Drilling Engineers, ongoing leadership in directing efforts to enhance the success of AADE events and continuously promoting the values and purpose of the American Association of Drilling Engineers.
