The weather is getting warmer, so please try to stay hydrated when you hunt. Rusty Curry will be our speaker this month, and will deliver a message on new products by Garrett, and whatever else he has on his mind. There are also a lot of events to think about like the TAMDC show in April, and the spring hunt in May. I have learned that several of our members have done quite well at some of the spring hunts already, so maybe their fortune will be yours. Remember to fill your holes, and carry away the trash. 5 Upcoming events Prepared by Herman Denzler 3/16/2016 Subject: Lion's Camp for Handicap Children in Kerrville, Texas Metal Detecting Event From Larry Vickers: The days for the Camp outing this year are June 15 and 16, We check in at 8:00 am on Wednesday the 15 th and leave on Thursday the 16 th at 2:00 pm. News about members From Ellen Jackson: My volunteer metal detecting services have been recognized for their contribution to archaeology in the article The Coins of Maqatir in the Fall 2015 edition of Bible and Spade. The article includes my picture (in full Lone Star and Garrett gear!) and charts of some of the hundreds of coins I found at the Khirbet el Maqatir archaeological site near Jerusalem. The coins date from 350 BC to 400 AD, and represent many different Greek, Jewish and Roman rulers. (See the article posted on the Event board at the next meeting.)
