2 OFFICER S FORUM Dear Members of the PBLA, Thank you for allowing me to serve as your President this past year! I have had the pleasure of working together with one of the best group of Board members during my association with the PBLA. Additionally, we have enjoyed the good fortune of having strong participation from the membership as a whole. We kicked off the year with Eric Hansen Memorial Clay Shoot and it exceeded all expectations. The weather was perfect and Caleb Hopson, Nick Hanna and their committee managed to give away over 90 shotguns that day, not to mention hosting the incredible welcome party at Kessler s the night before. Christina Sherwood chaired our Education Seminar this year hosting over 300 attendees. Ken Smith organized a great Christmas Party at the Petroleum Museum, and then outdid himself by cooking enough shrimp to feed over 800 people at the Shrimp Boil. Once again, Kelly Reese and Clay Whitehead somehow managed to get over 500 golfers on and off of the golf course during daylight hours, with more eats, drinks and prizes than ever. As Membership Chair, Carson Buckles was instrumental in welcoming over 225 new members into the PBLA. Today, total membership exceeds 1300! Without endless efforts of Amanda LaBrie (Secretary), Will Porter (Fund Raising/Scholarship & Charities), Ben Carter (Newsletter) and David Stroman (Treasurer), much of what we accomplished would not have occurred. Jason South secured an outstanding group of speakers for this year s programs, including our very own Pam Fiest as President of the PBLA. I hope you re as excited as I am to have Jason serve as next year s President. I am confident that he will continue to lead the PBLA in the right direction. The Danita Walker Memorial Fund and the Bro Seltzer Scholarship Fund continue to grow. This year, the PBLA granted scholarship awards to 25 men and women and donations to 7 area charitable organizations. My many thanks go out to Mollie McAuliffe for all that she does behind the scenes and her dedication to the PBLA. In closing, I want to thank you again. It has been an honor to serve as your President. The PBLA is only as good as its Board, and its Board is only as good as its Members. Please get involved, volunteer, and continue to help make the PBLA the most respected association in the AAPL. Thank You! Paul Lucas
