3 LASER FOCUS Let!s spend a moment on focus. Goals, ambitions, deams and moe ae all geat and impotant to have. Now that you have them, what do you do next? I!ve always been a believe in the wost action is inaction. I!ve had my fai shae of things I!ve been excited about and got caught up in day deaming ove it to the point to whee nothing happened. I!ve taken the next steps and got caught up in the but fist syndome. Have you eve had an end goal? Something you want to do but fist you have to do this, and then you have to do that etc. It happens to us all. Fo me pesonally, the Bass Matte poject is a pefect example. I!ve had this poject in mind fo yeas, but fist I had to make content, then I had to build a webpage, then I had to make a logo, then I had to fom a business, then I had to apply fo Tademaks, then I had to make a facebook page, then... Supise! Nothing got done. Taking Action Take action on something and pou all of you focus and attention you have available fo it and go. I shae this lesson I!ve expeienced with you as a bass educato. Bass Matte in the beginning of 2011 stated with a domain puchase and a facebook page. That!s it. With my lase focus on those two things I was able to apply lase focus into a logo, afte that the Bass Cash Couse and so on. The list is still long of things to get done, but by focusing on one detail at a time, the list begins to shink and fowad pogess is made. This ings tue to all atists. With ambitions of being famous, the best at the battle of the bands, the best hee, the best thee and so on, one can find them-self not knowing any moe and a bunch of time gone with no pogess. As a bass playe I have plenty to wok on and get bette at, as do we all egadless of level. I do my best to apply lase focus on just one thing until I!m confident and move on. Befoe too long, the list begins to have some check maks on it instead of gowing longe. 6 Chops Bune Date fast/slow 1/8 Notes Tiplets Slap/Pop Playing speed is a lot moe impotant that one may think. I!m not talking about how fast of slow you can play, I mean how consistently you can play in time. A goal I ecommend is to build up to 8 bas (4/4) playing 8th notes at 240 BPM, Tiplets at 120 BPM and Slap Pop at 120 BMP. Playing slowe is a lot hade than it looks. Why don!t you shoot to play all thee at 25 BPM. =) Use this chat to tack pogess. You!ll find that if you don!t pactice, it doesn!t take long to lose esults. Keep those chops up. If you can go faste o slowe that the suggestions, keep going, those ae guidelines and if you can hit those, then you!e doing bette than most.
