Set in seams ae made by sewing one pat of the seam (b), the fabics ae emoved fom the sewing machine and adjusted so the othe pat of the seam lines up then that potion of the seam is stitched (b).pess seams flat (d). a b c d Rolling Sta Blocks: 1. Fom the 2-1/4" blue swil stip cut foty-eight diamonds using Rolling Sta Diamond Template. Also cut foty-eight diamonds with Rolling Sta Diamond Template fom 2-1/4" blue dot stips. Cut ninety-six diamonds with Rolling Sta Diamond Template fom 2-1/4" gold double dot stips. 2. Aange fou blue swil and fou blue dot diamonds as shown. Stitch into sets of two. Sew into sets of fou, then into a single sta. 3. Using set in seams, add fou 3" bown squaes between sta points. Add fou moe 3" bown squaes. 4. Add eight gold double dot diamonds with set-in seams. 5. Finish Rolling Sta Block by adding fou black 4-3/8" half-squae tiangles to fou cones. 6. Make a total of twelve Rolling Sta Blocks. Pole Sta Blocks: 1. Fom the 1-3/4" blue dot stip cut fifty-two diamonds using Pole Sta Diamond Template. Also cut fifty-two diamonds with Pole Sta Diamond Template fom 1-3/4" ed dot stips. 2. Using Pole Sta Small Squae Diamond, cut fifty-eight small squae diamonds fom 3-1/2" black double dot stips. Using Lage Pole Sta Squae Diamond cut fifty-two lage squae diamonds fom 3-3/4" black double dot stips. 3. Fom 2" gold dot stips cut foty-eight cone tiangles with Pole Sta Cone Template. With the Pole Sta Cone Template face down, cut fotyeight evese cone tiangles fom 2" ed dot stips. 4. Fom 3" ceam swil stips cut foty-eight setting tiangles and foty-eight evese setting tiangles using the Pole Sta Setting Tiangle Template. 5. Aange fou blue dot and fou ed dot diamonds as shown. Stitch into sets of two. Sew into sets of fou, then into a single sta. 6. Using set in seams, add fou black double dot lage squae diamonds.

3 Page 3 7. Using set in seams, add fou black double dot small squae diamonds. 8. Add fou ceam swil setting tiangles and fou ceam swil evese swil setting tiangles using set in seams. 9. Stitch fou gold dot cone tiangles to block cente as shown. Add the fou ed dot evese cone tiangles to block cente as shown using set in seams. 10. Make a total of six whole Pole Sta Blocks 11. Using the same technique to make the whole Pole Sta Blocks, make ten half-blocks (fo quilt cente side setting blocks) and fou quate-blocks (fo quilt cente cone setting blocks). half blocks Assembly: 1. Refeing to the quilt image, aange blocks and patial blocks on point. Stitch blocks into diagonal ows. Sew ows togethe. Tim quilt cente to appoximately 1/4" past seam points quate blocks 2. Make two bodes each with two 2-1/2" ceam swil stips sewn togethe end-to-end. Sew these to the ight and left sides of quilt cente. Pess and tim excess fom these and all successive bode additions. Cut one 2-1/2" x 44" ceam swil stip into two equal lengths. Sew each half length to a full-length stip. Add these bodes to the top and bottom of the quilt cente. 3. Make and add a 4" black double dot bode in the same manne as the fist bode. 4. Make fou bodes each with two 1-1/2" x 44" blue swil stips sewn togethe end-to-end. Add bodes to ight and left sides then to the top and bottom of quilt. Finishing: 1. Cut backing into two equal lengths. Sew the two lengths of backing togethe along selvage edges ceating a two-panel wide backing. Laye the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt o tie as desied. 2. Pepae binding fom eight 2-1/2" x 44" blue swil stips. Sew stips togethe into one long binding stip. Pess stip in half lengthwise. 3. Caefully tim backing and batting even with quilt top. 4. Leaving an 8" tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt though all layes matching all aw edges. Mite cones. Stop appoximately 12" fom whee you stated. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Whee these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and pess to fom a cease. Using this cease as you stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding togethe ight sides togethe. Tim seam to 1/4" and pess open. Finish sewing binding to quilt. 5. Tun binding to back of quilt and blind stitch in place.
