3 General Requirements All workmanship shall be square and true with a high degree of architectural finish. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to inspect all raw materials for defects prior to fabrication. Workmanship and finishing will be inspected before transportation to the site as well as after installation. Responsibility for defects in materials, fabrication, or finishing will be assumed by the contractor. Fastening hardware shall be stainless steel or heavy coat galvanized steel. Fastening holes in sign faces and structures shall be pre-drilled and de-burred prior to finishing. All structural welding shall be executed to best trade practice. Welds must be cleaned and ground smooth as necessary to facilitate proper fit and finishing. Material samples shall be presented to the client prior to full-scale fabrication for client approval. The contractor shall make every effort to maintain the safety of the work site(s) and avoid ongoing unsightly conditions. All refuse and discarded materials shall be removed at the contractor's expense. All disturbed landscaping and hardscaping,e.g. asphalt, concrete, shall be repaired to its original condition as the work is completed. Submittals and Approvals Where signs of the same type are to be produced, one typical detail accompanied by a graphic schedule shall be submitted. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all permits and adherence to laws and bylaws within the jurisdiction. Where applicable, approved drawings from a structural engineer licensed in British olumbia shall be supplied by the fabricator. Signage installation locations shall be reviewed and approved by the roads authority having jurisdiction. Any font license purchases required to layout final sign texts shall be the responsibility of the fabricator. Provided Documents The successful contractor will be provided design templates for use in production (one for each sign type). These files will include all graphics and logos in vector format as well as pantone colour specifications. hangeable text will be inserted as editable fonts.
