3 Product Description What Makes the MP Series Unique? Three unique details make the concept of interchangeable panels both functional and aesthetically pleasing. 1. A special framing extrusion assures the precise size and fit of each panel. 2. An interface component locks each panel together horizontally, preventing light leaks for illuminated versions and offering interpanel strength. 3. A unique Corner Extrusion and a patented Tamper Resistant, repositionable Fastener Slide (Patent number: D 324,576) permits panels to be affixed at virtually any point vertically, thus making panel attachment totally flexible regardless of size and future changes. Selecting a Sign- A Step By Step Guide 1. Determine the number of viewing surfaces (sides) needed 1, 2, 3 or 4 Sides. 2. Select the support configuration that best suits conditions: Surface Mounted Single Sided Double Post Mounted 2 Sides Base Mounted 2 Sides Pylon Mounted 2, 3 or 4 Sides 3. Decide upon the number of sign panels needed for each viewing side. 4. Using the Viewing/Distance Chart, determine if the panel size you have selected will accommodate the longest message with a typesize suitable for viewing. 5. Determine if illumination of graphics is needed. If so, service will need to be provided at each installation location for voltage selected (120VAC, 60Hz or 277VAC, 60Hz). 6. Use the Product Order Form to review necessary detailed information required for manufacturing. 7. Check local codes to assure size, location and specifications meet legal requirements. Sign Panel Construction MP Series Sign Panels are molded of fiberglass and incorporate special aluminum extrusions which create the sign panel returns (depth) and attachment flanges. All edges (side returns) of the sign panel are precise 90 angles. The Fiberglass Process The fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) is composed of a resin which is strengthened with glass fiber strands. An initial layer of gel coat seals the resin and prevents exposure of glass fibers. The gel coat provides a uniform, blemish-free surface for receiving the final polyurethane finish. Top Cap Detail A Thin Profile Aluminum Cap is standard for all Series. A Dimensional (2") FRP Cap is optional. It is not necessary to remove the cap for either changing panels or servicing. Finishes Finishes for both fiberglass and aluminum components are high-grade, two component polyurethane, offering superior durability for extreme exposure. UL Listed In addition to using all U.L. listed electrical components, the fabrication and assembly methods themselves have been approved by Underwriters Laboratories. Warranty All PolySign products are backed by a Seven-year limited warranty. Graphic Applications Opaque/Non-Illuminated APCO offers two distinct methods for opaque graphics; Non-illuminated graphics using painted graphics (intaglio method) and pressure sensitive vinyl (PSV) lettering. SignPanel Construction A Resin Hook Framework FRP Illuminated Image Area Gel Base Coat Graphic Color Background Color Intaglio Intaglio is a process where the graphic application becomes a permanent and integral part of the sign coating. The first polyurethane coating represents the graphics color, after which a computer cut mask is applied. The final coat or background color, is applied and the masks are peeled away to reveal the graphics color. Each step is performed while coating is uncured, assuring optimum bonding of each coat. Translucent Graphics may be translucent with permanent images when internally illuminated with high output fluorescent lamps. The translucent FRP product does not lend itself to illumination of large background areas. DayLite The translucent DayLite feature allows dark graphics to illuminate white for night viewing, making dark letters on a light background a possible color combination for internally illuminated signs.

4 MP Post Product Description The Post Mounted version of the Multi-Panel (MP) Series uses structural aluminum support posts in Radius, Contour or Rectangular shapes. Two viewing surfaces are provided and accommodate either single or independent multiple sign panels. Support posts may be implanted directly into earth or may be ordered with welded plates which attach directly to mounting surfaces. Sign Panels Interchangeable sign panels are fiberglass integrated with unique aluminum extrusions, creating a two inch depth for strength and stability. Panel sizes range from 6" x 24" to 144" x 72". Opaque background. See "SignPanel Sizes" in this section for available display and illumination areas. Structural Post Extrusions Structurally engineered aluminum post extrusions are offered in Radius, Rectangular, and Contour Shapes. All mounting hardware, including posts, fasteners and housing cabinet, is non-corrosive. Top Cap 3/16" Aluminum post and cabinet Cap are standard with the 4300 & 4400 Series. Electrical (4400 Series) MP Illuminated products are UL Listed and utilize high-output fluorescent lamps for illumination. All wiring and ballasts are contained in easily accessible internal raceways. Standard electrical rating is 120 Volts, with options of 277 Volts and other ratings. An Internal disconnect switch is standard with all modules. 6 MP Surface Mount Product Description The Surface Wall Mount Module is a singlesided cabinet which secures directly to a vertical surface. The dimensional sign panels attach to the framework. Sizes range from 37 3/8" high by 33 3/4" wide to 145 3/8" high by 69 3/4 wide with other sizes are available upon special request. Cabinet depth is 6. Sign Panels Interchangeable sign panels are fiberglass integrated with unique aluminum extrusions, creating a two inch depth for strength and stability. Panel sizes range from 6" x 24" to 144" x 60". Opaque background. See "SignPanel Sizes" in this section for available display and illumination areas. End Shapes Modules with square end shapes do not actually have end shapes. A flat aluminum plate encompasses the product s perimeter, resulting in a square appearance. Molded fiberglass end shapes are available in radius or contour profiles. As with all Multi-Panel PolySigns, a reveal is incorporated between the sign panel and the end shape. This provides the necessary clearance for the non-corrosive assembly hardware provided. Top Cap A 3/16" aluminum top plate is standard with the surface mount Multi-Panel modules. Electrical (4600 Series) MP Illuminated products are UL Listed and are equipped with high output fluorescent lamps and low temperature start up ballasts. Access for Surface Wall Mount Modules is in the upper, right hand corner, through the backside. Standard electrical rating is 120V 60hz with 277V available. All wiring and ballasts are contained in easily accessible internal raceways. An internal disconnect switch is standard with all modules. 8 MP Pylon Product Description The "Box-Kite" Superstructure is the backbone of the MP Pylon. The dimensional sign panels attach all four sides of the framework. The superstructure assures a rigid and sound support, designed to withstand environmental stresses. Superstructure sizes range from 40 1/4" high to 148 1/4" high, 33 3/4" wide to 81 3/4" wide and 12 3/4" deep to 81 3/4" deep. Other sizes are available upon special request. Sign Panels Interchangeable sign panels are fiberglass integrated with unique aluminum extrusions, creating a two inch depth for strength and stability. Panel sizes range from 6" x 24" to 144" x 60". Corner Support Extrusions Structurally engineered aluminum corner support extrusions are standard in Radius as shown, and offered with optional Square cladding. Mounting patterns are available to assure correct installations. This configuration provides two viewing surfaces which accommodate either single or independent multiple panels. Available in both internally illuminated and non-illuminated versions. Example: A 48" wide panel minus 4.5" will give an illuminated width of 43.5". To determine illuminated height for panels up to 12" high, subtract 2.5" from the raised vertical dimension. Example: A 12" high (11 1/4" raised) x 48" wide multi-panel will have a maximum illuminated area of 8 3/4" h. x 43 1/2" w. 2" Illuminated Area Mounting Flange Raised Panel Area To determine the illuminated height for panels taller than 12", subtract 4.25" from raised panel area dimension. Example: A 24" high (23 1/4" raised) x 48" wide multi-panel will have a maximum illuminated area of 19" h. x 43 1/2" w. Raised Panel Area
