1 Block 39 Towers of Camelot The easiest way to construct this block is by machine piecing. Shirting print Cut one 1 1/2 square. Cut two 2 3/8 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Cut one 2 3/4 square. Cut diagonally in both directions to yield 4 triangles. Gold print Cut two 2 3/8 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Cut one 2 3/4 square. Cut diagonally in both directions to yield 4 triangles. Navy print Cut two 2 3/8 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Red print Cut two 1 5/8 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Assembly - Sew a red triangle to each side of the center shirting square. Sew the four navy and four larger shirting triangles together along the long edge. Sew small gold and shirting triangles together along short edges as shown below. Sew larger gold triangle to the long edge of each of the small triangle units. You now have all the units needed to sew the block together just like a nine patch. Lay the sections out in rows and together to complete the block.

2 Block 40 Rose Trellis The easiest way to construct this block is by hand or machine piecing. Cutting - Medium Blue print Cut four B diamonds Dark Blue print Cut four C triangles Shirting print Remember to add the 1/4 seam allowance when cutting around your templates. Cut eight A triangles Assembly - Sew a A triangle to the end of B diamonds. Sew a C triangle to the long edge of the B diamonds. Sew the remaining A triangles together forming a square. Sew the diamond units around the center pieced square. This line should measure 1 after printing pattern.

3 Block 41 Grape Basket Cutting for foundation paper piecing includes extra seam allowance to allow for ease in placement of individual pieces - Cutting - Shirting print Cut one 1 3/4 square. Cut three 2 1/4 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 6 triangles. Discard one. Cut one 3 square. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 2 triangles. Discard one. Cut one 3 1/2 squares. Cut diagonally in both directions to yield 4 triangles. Discard two. Cut two 2 x 4 rectangles. Yellow print Cut two 2 1/4 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Discard one. Brown print Cut one 2 1/4 square. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 2 triangles. Cut one 3 square. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 2 triangles. Discard one. Pink print Cut three 2 1/4 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 6 triangles. Cut one 3 square. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 2 triangles. Discard one. Green print Cut two 2 1/4 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Assembly - Foundation paper piece sections A through G following the numerical order. Sew A to B and C to D. Sew these units together to form a square. Sew E and F to each side of the center square. Sew the G triangle to the bottom to complete the block The size of your unfinished block should be 5 ( 4 1/2 finished size).

Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Cut eight 3 squares. Cut four 2 squares. Black print Cut four 3 squares. Cut eight 2 squares. Red print Cut four 2 x 3 1/2 rectangles. Cut two 1 3/4 squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to yield 4 triangles. Assembly - Foundation paper piece sections A through G following the numerical order. Sew E,F and G together Sew C and D to each end of that square. Sew A and B to the remaining open corners.
