4 From each of seven dark brown FQ prints, cut: one 3-1/2 x 21 strip. Subcut three 3-1/2 Easy Angle triangles. two 2 x 21 strips. Subcut eighteen 2 Easy Angle triangles. four 1-1/2 x 21 strips. Subcut four 1-1/2 x 8-1/2 and four 1-1/2 x 6-1/2 rectangles From each of six pink FQ prints, cut: one 3-1/2 x 21 strip. Subcut two 3-1/2 Easy Angle triangles. one 2 x 21 strips. Subcut twelve 2 Easy Angle triangles. seven 1-1/2 x 21 strips. Subcut eight 1-1/2 x 8-1/2 & eight 1-1/2 x 6-1/2 rectangles From each of eleven light FQ prints, cut: one 3-1/2 x 21 strip. Subcut six 3-1/2 Easy Angle triangles. two 2 x 21 strips. Subcut twelve 2 Easy Angle triangles, three 2 squares & six 2 x 3-1/2 rectangles From the dark pink FQ print (Fabric O), cut: eleven 1-1/2 x 21 strips. Set aside for the fi rst inner border. From the light pink stripe FQ print (Fabric Y), cut: eleven 1-1/2 x 21 strips. Set aside for the second inner border. From Fabric CC, cut: two 13-1/2 x WOF strips. Subcut: - four 13-1/2 squares. Cut each square in half along both diagonals for the setting triangles. - From the remainder, cut two 7 squares. Cut each square once along a diagonal for the corners. From Fabric DD, cut: seven 5 x WOF strips. Set aside for the outer border. From the binding fabric, cut: seven 5 x WOF strips. Cutting Instructions Assembling the Blocks Step 1 Sew a large brown triangle together with a large light triangle. Press toward the dark triangle. Repeat with four matching small triangles. Trim the dog-ears. Make 1 Make 4 page 4

5 Step 2 Sew matching small triangle-squares together in A and B pairs as shown. Press. A B Step 3 Sew the A set of triangle squares from Step 2 to the left side of the matching large triangle-square. Press. Step 4 Sew a matching light square to the left side of the B pair from Step 2. Press toward the square. Step 5 Sew the Step 4 unit to the top of the Step 3 unit. Press. Step 6 Sew a matching pair of brown triangles to the 2 x 3-1/2 light rectangles as shown. Press. Step 7 Sew the Step 6 units to adjacent sides of the basket block. Trim dog-ears. Press. Step 8 Sew a large light triangle to the bottom of the basket. Press. At this point the block should measure 6-1/2 square. Repeat to make a total of twenty brown baskets and twelve pink baskets. NOTE: If your blocks measure less than 6-1/2 square, trim the sashing strips in the next two steps to fi t the blocks. page 5

6 Sashing the Blocks Step 1 Using two matching 1-1/2 x 6-1/2 pink sashings, sew to opposite sides of the brown basket blocks as shown. Press toward the sashing. Step 2 Using two matching 1-1/2 x 8-1/2 pink sashings, sew to the remaining sides of the basket block from Step 1. Press toward the sashing. Repeat Steps 1-2 for each of the twenty brown basket blocks. Step 3 Using two matching 1-1/2 x 6-1/2 brown sashings, sew to opposite sides of the pink basket blocks exactly as shown. Press toward the sashing. Step 4 Using two matching 1-1/2 x 8-1/2 brown sashings, sew to the two remaining sides of the block from Step 3. Press toward the sashing. Repeat Steps 3-4 for the twelve pink baskets. page 6

7 Assembling the Quilt Step 1 Arrange the brown and pink basket blocks in alternate rows on point as shown in the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Add the setting triangles along the outer edge, with the smaller triangles at the corners. Step 2 Sew the blocks and setting triangles together in diagonal rows, pressing toward the brown frames and setting triangles. Step 3 Join the rows, matching and pinning at each seam intersection. Press the seams either direction. Step 4 Before adding the borders, trim and straighten the outer edges carefully, leaving at least 1/4 from the corners of the blocks. Step 5 Piece the 1-1/2 x 21 border strips together with straight seams pressed open. Measure and trim two dark pink borders the width of the quilt. Sew to the top and bottom. Press towards the borders. Step 6 Repeat for the side borders. Step 7 In the same manner, add the light pink stripe and the wide outer brown/pink floral borders to the quilt. Press. Your quilt top is now complete! Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy! page 7
