From Fabric A, fussy cut: six 10-1/2 squares From Fabric, fussy cut: four 7-5/8 squares, cut on point twenty-two 4 squares, cut on point Note: Some may be nature scenes, rather than animals. From Fabric, cut: three 4 x WOF strips. Subcut: twenty-six 4 squares utting Instructions one 6 x WOF strip. Subcut: four 6 squares. ut each in half once along the diagonal. page 2

From the remainder of the strip, cut: four 4 squares eight 3-1/2 x WOF strips. Subcut: ninety-six 3-1/2 squares. ut each in half once along the diagonal. From Fabric E, cut: fi ve 6 x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim to yield: two 6 x 45-1/2 top/bottom inner borders two 6 x 44-1/2 side inner borders seven 3-1/2 x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim to yield: two 3-1/2 x 65-1/2 side outer borders two 3-1/2 x 61-1/2 top/bottom outer borders four 2-1/2 x WOF strips. Subcut: two 2-1/2 x 34-1/2 row sashing strips two 2-1/2 x 20-1/2 block sashing strips four 2-1/2 x 10-1/2 block sashing strips From the binding fabric, cut: seven 2-1/4 x WOF strips Assemble the Square in a Square locks (SIAS) 10-1/2 Step 1: Sew a 6 Fabric triangle to opposite sides of a 7-5/8 Fabric square. Press seam allowances toward the triangles. Repeat on remaining sides of the Fabric square. Trim the SIAS block to 10-1/2 square. Repeat to make two blocks with Fabric and two blocks with Fabric. page 3

4 Step 2: Sew a 3-1/2 Fabric triangle to opposite sides of a 4 Fabric square. Press seam allowances toward the triangles. Repeat on remaining sides of the Fabric square. Trim the SIAS block to 5-1/2 square. Make four. Repeat with 3-1/2 Fabric triangles for all 4 Fabric and squares. Assemble the Quilt Top Quilt Assembly iagram page 4

5 Step 3: Arrange the blocks together as indicated in the Quilt Assembly iagram. Sew each row together, using sashing strips between each block. Press seams toward the sashing. Repeat to make three block rows. Step 4: Sew the sashing and block rows together. Press seams open or to the sashing. Step 5: Sew the 6 Fabric E side inner borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the 6 Fabric E top and bottom inner borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Step 6: Sew fi ve Fabric SIAS blocks and six Fabric SIAS blocks together, alternating and beginning and ending with a Fabric block. Press seams open. This will become the side middle border. Repeat to make two. Sew the side middle borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the inner borders. Step 7: Repeat Step 6 with six Fabric blocks and fi ve Fabric blocks to make a top/bottom middle border. Repeat to make two. Sew the top and bottom middle borders to the quilt center. Press toward the inner borders. Step 8: Sew the 3-1/2 Fabric E side outer borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the 3-1/2 Fabric E top and bottom outer borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Your quilt top is complete! aste, quilt, bind and enjoy! page 5
