6 ssembly nstructions Step 1: ake the Panel locks 1. Sew 2 x 5-1/2 rectangles short sides together, in the fabric combinations shown (refer to fi g. 2), to make border units. 2. Sew a 2 cream leaf square to both ends of the top and bottom border units. 3. 7 Step 2: ake the 4-patch locks 5. Sew 5-1/2 squares together to make 4-patch units in the fabric combinations shown (refer to fi g. 4). 6. Sew a 2 x 10-1/2 strip to the sides of each 4-patch unit. 7. 8 Step 3: ake the rish hain locks 9. Sew a abric and a abric 2 x WO strip together lengthwise. Press seam allowance toward the green. 10. Repeat to make a second strip set. 11. Subcut strip sets into thirty-two units 2 x 3-1/ Sew units together into 4-patch units (fi g. 5), pressing the seams open. ake sixteen. fi g Sew a abric and a abric E 2 x WO strip together lengthwise. Press seam allowance toward green. 14. Repeat to make four strip sets. 15. Subcut strip sets into eighty units 2 x 3-1/ Sew units together into 4-patch units (fi g. 6), pressing the seams open. ake forty. Set eight aside for Star locks. fi g Repeat steps to make forty 4-patch units using abric and abric E (fi g. 7) fi g ssemble rish hain blocks as pictured (fi g. 8). ake sixteen. fi g. 8 page 8

9 Step 4: ake Star locks 19. ake sixteen fl ying geese using 3-1/2 x 6-1/2 abric E rectangles and 3-1/2 abric J squares (fi g. 9) Place a abric J square RST at one end of a abric E rectangle. ark a diagonal line on the wrong side of the square. Sew on the marked line and trim away the excess fabric, leaving a 1/4 seam allowance. Press toward the triangle. Repeat at the remaining end of the rectangle. The resulting fl ying geese block should measure 3-1/2 x 6-1/2. fi g Sew a 2 abric and a 2 abric square together to make a 2-patch unit. ake eight. 10 Step 5: ake Wreath locks 22. Sew abric triangles to two sides of a abric 2 square, as pictured, then sew triangle unit to a abric E triangle to make a corner unit (fi g. 12) ake sixteen. fi g Sew a 2 abric square to both ends of a 2 x 3-1/2 abric rectangle. ake eight. Repeat with 2 abric squares and 2 x 3-1/2 abric D rectangles. ake sixteen (fi g. 13). fi g Sew units long-edges together, to make border units. 11 Step 6: ssemble the Quilt (Refer to ssembly Diagram) 26. Sew the Panel locks and 4-Patch blocks together into four rows of four blocks each. Sew rows together to complete the center. 27. Piece the abric J 1-1/2 X WO strips short sides together and sew to sides, top and bottom of the quilt center. Trim as you go. 28. Repeat to sew on next border, using the 3-1/2 abric K strips. 29. Sew rish hain, Star and Wreath blocks together, as pictured, to make outer borders. Pay close attention to the block orientation. 30. Sew outer side borders to quilt, then sew top and bottom borders to quilt. Your quilt top is now complete! aste, quilt, bind and enjoy! page 11
