Fabric Yardage ting (WOF= Width of Fabric) 1 Panel Fussy cut one Chevron Stripe for the binding per the instructions on page 2. Fussy cut all nine of the Panel Blocks per the instructions on page 2. 1 yard For Sash Units: three (3) 4⅜ x WOF strips: Subcut into twenty-four (24) 4⅜ squares; cut each square diagonally in half to create 48 triangles For Border Corner-Blocks: one (1) strip from WOF: Subcut into eight (8) 2⅝ squares; cut each square diagonally in half to create 16 triangles For Borders: two (2) 1½ x 35½ strips from WOF. two (2) 1½ x 37½ strips from WOF. six (6) 1½ x WOF strips. ⅜ yard two (2) 3 x WOF strips plus 3 x 6 : Subcut into twenty-eight (28) 3 squares. 24 squares are for Sash Units; 4 squares are for Border Corner-Blocks ¾ yard two (2) 4¾ x WOF strips: Subcut into twelve (12) 4¾ squares; cut each square diagonally twice to create 48 triangles for Sash Units two (2) 4 x WOF strips: Subcut into sixteen (16) 4 squares. For Border Corner-Blocks: two (2) 1¾ x WOF strips plus 1¾ x 6½ : Subcut into: Eight (8) 1¾ x 4 rectangles Eight (8) 1¾ x 6½ rectangles 1¼ yards Fussy cut four Diamond Stripes for the Main Border per the instructions on page 2. The seam allowance should lie within the Black Calico background and outside of the blue scalloped border around each block. (Fig. 2) 7½ 7½ Note: Due to variations that can arise in the fabric printing process, it is advisable to use a marking pencil to trace the outline of the square to be cut before actually cutting. Fussy cut the Diamond Stripes for the Border: four 6½ Diamond Stripes approx. 40 long from the Vintage Stripe Fabric (E) by aligning the 3¼ line on a rotary cutting ruler along the center of the small diamonds. (Fig. 3) Fussy cut the Chevron Stripes for the Binding: five 2½ Chevron Stripes the length of the fabric from the Vintage Stripe Fabric (E) by aligning the line on a rotary cutting ruler along the center of the stripe. (Fig. 3) 3¼ Align the 3¼ line on a ruler through the center of the diamonds for Border strips. 5 Assembly Instructions for Sash Units Arrows indicate pressing direction in diagrams. Create 24 Sash Units following the instructions & diagrams below. 1. Sew a Fabric D triangle to a 3 Fabric C square as shown. The tip of the triangle will extend past edge of the square. Press toward Fabric D. (Fig. 4) 2. Sew a Fabric D triangle to the adjacent side of Fabric C square as shown. The tip of the Fabric D triangle will extend past the first Fabric D triangle. Press toward Fabric D. (Fig. 5) 3. Sew a Fabric B triangle to one side of the larger Fabric C-D triangle as shown. The tip of the Fabric B triangle will extend past edge of the Fabric C square. Press toward Fabric B. (Fig. 6) 4. Sew a Fabric B triangle to the other side of the Fabric C-D triangle as shown. The tip of the Fabric B triangle will extend past the Fabric B triangle. 6 Quilt Center Assembly Instructions Using the 24 Sash Units, sixteen (16) 4 squares of Fabric D, and the nine (9) Panel Blocks assemble the Quilt Center as Shown in Figure 8. Press toward Fabric D squares in Sash Unit rows and press toward Panel Blocks in those rows. Press toward Panel Blocks when sewing rows together. Note: The Quilt Center should measure 35½ x 35½. The Flower Bouquet Panel Blocks are directional! Make sure the stems are all oriented in the same direction. The Paisley blocks can be oriented to your preference. Fig. 8 Corner-Block and Border Assembly Instructions Create four Border Corner-Blocks following instructions below: 1. Sew a Fabric B triangle to each side of a Fabric C square. Press toward Fabric B. (Fig 9) Sew a 1¾ x 4 rectangle of Fabric D to two sides of the square created in Step 1. Press toward Fabric D. (Fig. 10) Sew a 1¾ x 6½ rectangle of Fabric D to the other two sides. Press toward Fabric D. (Fig. 11) Border Corner-Block should measure 6½ x 6½. Fig. 9 Fig Helle-May Designs for EBI Fabrics Corp. 7 Sew the two 35½ strips of Fabric B to the sides of the Quilt Center. Sew the two 37½ strips of Fabric B to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. the Diamond Stripe Border pieces to 37½. Sew two of the Diamond Stripe Border pieces to the sides of the Quilt Center. Press toward Diamond Stripe Border. Sew a Border Corner-Block to each end of the remaining two Diamond Stripe Border pieces. Press toward Diamond Stripe Border. Sew each of these Border pieces to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Press toward Diamond Stripe Border. Sew the six 1½ strips of Fabric B together using bias seams. into two 49½ pieces and two 51½ pieces. Sew the two 49½ pieces of Fabric B to the sides of the Quilt Center. Press toward Fabric B. Sew the two 51½ pieces of Fabric B to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Press toward Fabric B. Finishing Instructions After trimming off the selvages, sew together the pieces from Fabric F to create a backing approx. 59 x 59. Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt as desired. Make binding: Sew the five 2½ Chevron Stripes from Fabric E and the one section of the same Chevron Stripe from the Panel end to end with bias seams to make the binding. Fold this strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Attach the binding using your preferred method Helle-May Designs for EBI Fabrics Corp.
