HalfSquare Triangles The two fabrics making up each column will be joined with a halfsquare triangle with a decorative folded center. To make the decorative folded strip, fold and press the two " x 40" Sketched Floral Omit Green rectangles in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Select two triangles from each pair so they are oriented as in the following diagrams: a piece of the decorative folded strip long enough to go beyond the points of the long side of each triangle pair and pin against the right side of the lower triangle with the raw edges together. Layer the other triangle, right sides together, pin and carefully sew the three pieces together without stretching the edges. Carefully press open with the seam toward the top triangle and the fold toward the bottom triangle. Trim the halfsquare triangles as follows: Row 5 ½" x 5 ½" Row 2 7" x 7" Row 3 6 ½" x 6 ½" Row 4 8 ½" x 8 ½" Row 5 3 ½" x 3 ½" Row 6 7" x 7" Construct the TNT Sketched Floral Teal strips as follows: Trim the selvages from the ends of the strips. Place a 3" x 20" strip perpendicular to a 3" x 40" strip and sew at a 45 angle from corner to corner. Trim ¼" from seam. Press seam in one direction. Trim the strips to 54 ½". Repeat four times for a total of five 3" x 54 ½" strips.

6 Page 6 of 7 Join the two Stripe Multi strips together on the short side and trim the length if necessary to make the 6 ½" x 48 ½" bottom border. Position the pieces as in the diagram. Join the top and bottom pieces for each row to the half square triangle, paying attention to the orientation. Press toward the strips. Find and mark the center of each strip. Carefully match the ends and centers. Pin and sew the strips together. Press toward the TNT Sketched Floral Teal strips. Pin and sew the Stripe Multi border to the bottom. Press the seam toward the bottom border.

7 Page 7 of 7 Pieced Backing Trim the selvages from the remaining piece of Burst Stripe Multi. Make the back by joining the two 34" strips of Burst Multi and Gate Purple on the short ends, and sew the two long strips on both sides of the Burst Strip Multi. Press seams toward center. Quilting Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up), and baste well. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete. the ends of the five Sketched Floral Omit Pink binding strips at a 45degree angle and sew end to end to make one continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place Studio e Fabrics
