Always press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by arrows. Blocks Flying Geese Blocks 1. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of a Red Holiday Berries (K) 4" x 4" square. 2. With right sides together, place the square on one end of a Mint (S) 4" x 7 1/2" rectangle. Sew on the drawn line and trim 1/4" from the seam. Repeat on the other end of the rectangle. This creates a flying geese unit which measures 4" x 7 ½". 3. Sew a corresponding 4" x 7 ½" fabric (K) rectangle to the flying geese unit, creating a flying geese block, which measures 7 ½" x 7 ½". 4. Using the color guide below, repeat to make a total of 22 flying geese blocks. Square in a Square Blocks 5. With right sides together, sew a White (R) 4 ½" triangle to two opposite sides of a Red Medallion Snowflakes (E) 5 ½" square. Press. Repeat on the other two sides to complete a Square in a Square Block. Square up to measure 7 ½" x 7 ½". 6. Repeat to make a total of (4) blocks.

4 STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 4 of 5 Borders Note: Press seams toward the borders. Border One - Black Holiday Berries (L) 7. Sew a 2 ½" x 42 ½" strip to each side of the panel (A) 8. Sew a 2 ½" x 24 ½" strip to the top and bottom of the panel (A). Border Two - Teal Small Floral Vine (J) 9. Sew a 2 ½" x 44 ½" strip to each side of the quilt top. 10. Sew a 3" x 28 ½" strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Border Three - Flying Geese Border (Diagram on Page 5) 11. Sew (7) Flying geese blocks together. Repeat one time. Sew to the sides of the quilt top. 12. Sew (4) Flying geese blocks together and add a square in a square block to each end. Repeat one time. Sew to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Border Four - Black Medallion Snowflakes (F) 13. Sew a 3" x 63 ½" strip to the sides of the quilt top. 14. Sew a 3" x 47 ½" strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Border Five - Teal All Over Characters (B) 15. Sew a 4 ½" x 68 ½" strip to the sides of the quilt top. 16. Sew a 4 ½" x 55 ½" strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Border Six - Red Christmas Plaid (H) 17. Sew a 1 ½" x 76 ½" strip to the sides of the quilt top. 18. Sew a 1 ½" x 57 ½" strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Border Seven - White Medallion Snowflakes (D) 19. Sew a 6" x 78 ½" strip to the sides of the quilt top. 20. Sew a 6" x 68 ½" strip to the top and bottom. Layering, Quilting and Finishing Piece backing to make (1) 74" x 95" backing piece. Press quilt top and backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete. Binding Cut the ends of the (8) 2 ½" Hunter Christmas Plaid (G) binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew together end to end to make one continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back and hand stitch in place.
