Slide two of the COG "CC" pieces down vertically and into the previous two "GG" pieces. Shift the two "GG" pieces over to close. Insert two "GG" pieces in reverse, as shown. Slide two "CC-" pieces (C paired with reversed C) vertically down to the previous "GG" pieces. Slide the 2 "CC-" pieces seating them into the "GG" pieces. Shift the two "GG" pieces horizontally to close. DONE!

A face can be limited to turn only with 90 or 180 degrees of freedom, be free to turn a full 360 degrees or can even be blocked to not turn at all. By combining these variants many thousands of different puzzles can be made, some far harder than the original 3x3x3 cube.

18 29 Ferris' Box Puzzle Solution: Because of the mechanics in this puzzle box I decided to name it after the American inventor George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. who is most famous for creating the original Ferris wheel. 1-3 Examining the puzzle box you will find that the inner Walnut box can rotate within the Maple frame. The inner box has a home position that is located when a hidden bullet catch finds its locator hole. You will feel a positive stop and hear a snap as the bullet catch finds its home position. From the home position you need to rotate the inner box corners though 2 and depending on which direction it s rotated 3 quadrants of the Maple frame. 4 Once you are in the 2 nd quadrant from home position attempt to move the box in a North, South, East, and West direction. If you are unable to move in any of these directions then you need to rotate the inner box one more quadrant to arrive in the 3 rd quadrant. Once in the new quadrant again attempt to move the inner box in a North, South, East, or West direction. One quadrant will allow the inner box to move so that a corner is now extended out of the Maple frame. 5 Make sure the corner is extended fully out of the Maple frame. Now by positioning your fingers on the side lip of the inner box corner and you will be able to slide open the lid. The lid will only slide in one direction and is prevented from coming off the box. 20 30 Fidgety Rabbits Puzzle Solution: Push the piston back and forth inside of the housing to move the attached rabbits one by one through the slit in the baffle between the closed and opened compartments. There is a catch inside of the closed compartment that makes it impossible to move the rabbits independently. Only the first rabbit located near the slit can move freely (unlike the others, its dimple has is open at the edge). To move the others through the slit it is necessary to push the piston so that the previous rabbit presses the catcher and opens the way for the following neighbor. So to transpose all rabbits to the opened compartment, it is necessary to arrange sequential jumps from one compartment to another according to the binary reflected Gray code. When all rabbits are located in the opened compartment, then the piston with the rabbits can be removed from the housing. The sequence of jumps that begins with the second rabbit is a dead-end.

There are seven tetrahepts, but only six are compatible with this tiling.

Yes, there are lots of magnets in the puzzle but no hitting or banging is required to solve the puzzle.

30 35 Houdini's Torture Cell Puzzle Solution: Pull the Torture Cell out of the wooden base. Unscrew the bolt from the bottom of the Torture Cell and remove the black plastic tube. Screw the bolt back in to the bottom of the Torture Cell until the threaded end of the bolt is about 10mm from Houdini s head. Pick up the base and place the center of the base on the hex head end of the bolt. Stand the puzzle vertical. Hold top and bottom securely. Roll the ball over until it touches the threaded bolt and is attached to the bolt by the magnet. (Figure 1) Slowly tip the puzzle upside down to roll the ball around to sit on the threaded end of the bolt. (Figure 2) As the puzzle comes vertical you will notice the ball roll around to sit on the threaded end of the bolt. (Figure 3) If the ball does not roll on to the end freely a light tap with your forefinger on the base will help. Continue holding both the top and the base. Tip the puzzle back up the correct way again. (Figure 4) Gently remove the base. The ball should remain on the end of the bolt. Place your finger on the top of the puzzle. Keep light pressure on top of the puzzle while at the same time slowly screw the bolt up so that the ball pushes on Houdini s head. Keep screwing the bolt up so that it pushes Houdini and the top out of the Torture Cell. (Figure 5) Reassembly: Make sure the ball s inside! When replacing Houdini and the top of the puzzle make sure the 4 magnets are lined up so it securely locks the top into place

40 40 Little Window Puzzle Solution: To Disassemble; 1. Turn puzzle over so one of the four squares falls out. 2. Turn it face up so the empty spot is to your lower right. 3. Move the upper right piece down. 4. Move the upper left piece right. 5. Move the lower left piece up 2/3 of a space so that the tabs of both the right pieces are exposed. 6. Keeping your thumb on the left piece, turn the puzzle over and the two right pieces will fall out as a single unit. 7. Remove the last piece. Assembly: 1. Take the piece where the lower half is an offset square, and place it on the left side of the inside of the frame, so that there is 2/3 of a space below it and 1/3 of a space above. The lower half should be to the lower left of the upper half, and slid into the side of the frame. The right half of the frame should be empty. 2. Take the two squares with two lower pieces each (a small square and stick) and connect them together so that they form one piece with a small tab to the left-top and a small halfsquare to the left bottom. 3. Keeping these two pieces together as a single unit, put them in the frame to the right of the existing piece so that the tabs pass above and below it. All 3 pieces should now be resting flat in the frame. 4. Slide the left piece down, the upper right piece to the left, and the lower right piece up. This will leave a clear space in which to place the final piece. There is a second solution which is merely an extension of the first solution, adding 3 more sliding moves to reveal a second open spot for the last piece when assembling it. It doesn't significantly make the puzzle any more difficult, however.
