To begin to solve the puzzle it is necessary to position the top white element (with the green-yellow cap) and locate its claw properly between the crowns of the two adjacent leaves (figure 2).

Only one leaf can be turned at a time and the sequence of such turnings corresponds to reflected binary Gray code. However the solution can be realized by variation of this code.
