Conservancy of Southwest Florida uses the services of Naples Kayak Company to make sure you have a fun, informative and memorable experience on the water. Launch from the Allyn Family Lagoon and enjoy a two hour trip exploring nature. The lagoon flows into the Gordon River, then into Naples Bay - and ultimately into the Gulf of Mexico. Life abounds in Florida s rich estuarine waters, and the Allyn Family Lagoon is no exception. The brackish water provides a perfect habitat for mangroves and an abundance of fish including tarpon and snook. Manatees, sometimes known as sea cows, are occasionally spotted in this lagoon. Paddle on your own, with a friend, or enjoy a guided kayak nature excursion. 7 Conservancy Nature Center Tours A variety of fun, educational and fulfilling experiences for groups of all ages. Great way to entertain visiting guests! Please schedule in advance. Request yours today! or CherylL@conservancy.org Guided tours of the renovated Conservancy Nature Center last up to three hours and include new experiences throughout all 21 acres. Your trained guide will help you interact with over 100 native animals and new exhibits in the Dalton Discovery Center. Then it s off to the nursery at the von Arx Wildlife Hospital for a peek through the viewing window at some of our patients to learn about wildlife care. Your excursion will continue with a light walk to our preserves, home to protected gopher tortoises. Finally, enjoy a narrated electric boat cruise on the Gordon River from the Lew and Dawn Allyn Family Lagoon & Dock, where you may spot a manatee or two! CINEMA SUNDAYS First Sunday of the Month: January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6 1:30 PM Jeannie Meg Smith Theater inside Eaton Conservation Hall Come celebrate 50 years of Conservancy work in the region. Bring the family to enjoy a new, nature-inspired movie the first Sunday of each month - followed by a children s craft for hands-on learning about the movie theme. We ll even supply the popcorn! February 2 : Born to Be Wild Features two extraordinary women who have dedicated their lives to rescuing orphaned baby animals.
