4 Join Us Dear Potential Sponsor, On behalf of the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Illinois, we cordially invite you to be a part of our 8th annual celebration of technology and innovation, Pulse Each year, hundreds of students with a passion for technology come together to explore the latest advancements in ECE and CS at our student-run conference. This year we aim to reach a greater audience than ever before, attracting a diverse group of engineers and leaders to participate in our stimulating competitions, engaging workshops, and inspiring tech talks. Our theme for this year s conference, Pulse Horizons: Imagine New Beginnings, focuses on the power of creative innovation in engineering new solutions for the future. This year we are encouraging corporate sponsors to inspire students by sharing knowledge and starting conversations. We hope that this will be the spark to ignite the imaginations of the next generation so that, together, we can solve the problems of the future. Pulse has always been a way to give back to our students. Our curriculum teaches us fundamental concepts and skills while Pulse brings the cutting edge of technology right to students. Combining knowledge with experience, we motivate students to push the boundaries of innovation. However, more than anything, Pulse is a reminder of why we all chose to be engineers: for the opportunity to create impactful technology and push the world forward. The first Pulse tech conference took place in 2012 as a collaboration between multiple student organizations. We believe the spirit of collaboration is an essential idea in engineering and even more so in the present day. This year, we will be teaming up with other major ECE organizations such as HKN, IEEE, and WECE in order to reconnect with our roots and recapture the essence of Pulse, an event run by students, for students. We hope to have all of these student organizations work closely with you, our corporate sponsors, in order to make Pulse 2019 the best one yet. The ECE department at Illinois is well-known for its research and education, ranking among the top engineering departments nationwide. Similar rankings for Computer Science and other Illinois engineering programs help contribute to the university s reputation as a hub for innovation and worldwide impact.
