1 Sustainable Land Use Short food supply chains in operation PhD Autumn School on new opportunities for sustainable local products in the region of Budapest and Valencia 22nd September - 6th October 2018, Budapest - Valencia Turn your research into practice with our two-week PhD Autumn school on Sustainable Land Use. Sustainable food value chain has economic, environmental and social impacts contribute stability and security to all stakeholders by creating jobs and stable incomes for farmers, limiting waste and negative impact on climate and provide healthy, nutrient rich food to society. Through real life case studies, you can explore the connections in the short supply chain, identify barriers and find solutions to overcome these barriers. Come and join our programme to learn and apply different tools for system innovation, to engage with stakeholders, meet with experts and work in a multidisciplinary environment. This autumn school is organised in cooperation with: #ClimateCatapult catapult.climate-kic.org

2 The Challenge Case study I Production Understand in more detail the importance of farmer to farmer collaboration during production, and the techniques and technologies for producing high quality food in an environmentally conscious manner at a family/human scale while ensuring financial stability and low carbon emissions. Case study II Processing Exploring citizen-farmer collaborations for marketing local products. Investigate the different forms of contributors as markets, shops, takeover points and discover their needs and marketing barriers. Case study III Consumption Discover the roles and opportunities of local products in the end of the value chain; define methods for influencing consumer behaviour; find the key factors what makes healthy, sustainable food attractive to end users.
