3 T-72 TANK: STAGE 34 THE FOURTH STOWAGE PANNIER With this stage, you receive another road wheel and parts, more treads and pins, and the fourth stowage pannier (with rear fender), which you will be fitting to the hull, along with the two rails from Stage 15. Fourth stowage pannier (with rear fender) 1 81 For this stage, you will need the hull, a screwdriver, the two screws and the fourth stowage pannier from this stage, and the two rails from Stage 15.

4 2 Align the pins on the underside of rail 1 with the two circled holes in the hull. 3 Fit the pins into the holes and push the rail into place. 4 Align the pins on the underside of rail 2 with the corresponding holes in the hull. 5 Fit the pins into the holes and push the rail into place. 6 Align the posts on the underside of the fourth stowage pannier with the indicated holes in the hull. 7 Press the pannier into position. 8 Turn the hull over and place the two screws into the circled holes. 9 Tighten the screws into the holes This stage is now complete.

T-72 TANK: STAGE 35 THE GUN, MANTLET COVER AND TRACK With this stage, you receive some more parts for the main gun.

You also receive the mantlet cover, in two parts, which will fit around the main gun and secure it to the turret.

screws, a small hammer, a screwdriver, a wooden board, the track section and a length of wire with a hooked end.

5 T-72 TANK: STAGE 35 THE GUN, MANTLET COVER AND TRACK With this stage, you receive some more parts for the main gun. The LED will send a signal to infrared receivers on other tanks, telling them that they have been fired on. You also receive the mantlet cover, in two parts, which will fit around the main gun and secure it to the turret. PARTS Mantlet cover upper Mantlet cover lower Screws (2 pcs) LED 2 For this stage, you will need the gun barrel (Stage 2), the long LED (Stage 33), the mantlet cover upper, the LED from this stage, as well as treads and pins (Stage 34), screws, a small hammer, a screwdriver, a wooden board, the track section and a length of wire with a hooked end. The wire should be long enough and thin enough to be inserted into the gun barrel. Insert the LED from this stage into the arrowed hole in the mantlet cover If the LED is loose in the hole, you can secure it with a small drop of glue.

You can leave the screws in the holes to prevent them getting lost. 5 Unwind the long LED and carefully straighten it out in front of you. 6 Insert the length of wire into the base of the LED. This will allow you to manoeuvre it through the gun more easily. 7 Push the LED along the gun barrel. 8 This is how the end of the gun should look when the LED is positioned correctly. If it is loose, you can secure it with a dab of glue. 7 T-72 TANK: STAGE 36 THE RECOIL MECHANISM With this stage, you receive the recoil mechanism that simulates the recoil of the main gun when firing, and also allows the barrel to move up and down. PARTS 1. Recoil mechanism 2. Screw 3. Spring 1 85 For this stage, you will need all the parts supplied apart from the spring, as well as the gun barrel, the two mantlet cover halves, a screwdriver and an awl.

9 T-72 TANK: STAGE 37 THE INFRARED RECEIVER With this stage, you get an infrared (IR) receiver that will be fitted on the turret. This will receive IR signals from other tanks when they score a hit that causes damage to your tank. The position of the IR receiver on the turret is where the night sight is located on a real T-72. PARTS 1. IR receiver 2. Screws (2pcs) 1 87 For this stage, you will need the IR receiver, the screws, the turret and a screwdriver.

10 2 The holes and post on the underside of the receiver match the corresponding holes in the turret, in the orientation shown. 3 Pass the connector of the receiver into the hole in the turret. 4 Lower the receiver into position on the turret, inserting the post into the hole at the front. 5 Insert one of the screws into the hole in the receiver, as shown. 6 Half-tighten the screw into place, so that the receiver is held loosely in position. 7 Insert the second screw into the other hole in the receiver. 8 Half-tighten the second screw into place. 9 Now that both screws are in place, fully tighten each of them. 10 This stage is now complete. 88

You also receive the screws for fitting them. Be sure to handle the boards carefully, because they are quite fragile and the operation of your model depends on them. PARTS Screws (6 pcs) Hull distribution board IR receiver board Turret distribution board 1 2 For this stage, you will need the hull, the turret base (Stage 7), the two distribution boards and four screws from this stage, the left skirts and washer screws, and a screwdriver. Place the turret distribution board into the lower part of the turret base, as shown Half-tighten a screw through each hole in the board to secure it to the base.

12 4 Fully tighten both screws. 5 Turn the hull over, and align the two holes in the hull distribution board with the two posts indicated by the arrows. 6 Tighten a screw into each hole. 7 Align the two posts on the left rear skirt with the two circled holes in the panniers. Push the posts into place. 8 Tighten a washer screw into each of the two holes. 9 Align the posts on the inside of the front skirt with the corresponding holes in the panniers. 11 Tighten a washer screw into each hole. 12 This stage is now complete. 10 Press the two parts together, making sure that the two tabs at the rear of the front skirt engage with the matching recesses in the rear skirt. 90
