Input signal powr is th product of input offst voltag and input ias currnt, which rprsnts th minimum rquird powr draw from th signal sourc in ordr to driv th input of th oprational amplifir. Input signal powr is also a figur of mrit in sourc loading and its associatd rror, and is a masur of th asic signal rsolution possil through th oprational amplifir for a givn signal sourc. For crtain typs of signal sourcs, signal loading dirctly translats into a significant distortion or "intrfac nois quivalnt" trm. Th D1721/D1721G is dsignd to st a nw standard in low input signal powr rquirmnts. Th typical input loading at its input is 0.05 mv offst voltag and 0.01 p input ias currnt at 25C, rsulting in fw input signal powr draw. This input charactristic virtually liminats any loading ffcts on most typs of signal sourcs, offring unparalld accuracy and signal intgrity and fidlity. Oviously, for capacitiv and high snsitivity, high impdanc signal sourcs, th D1721/ D1721G is idally suitd. It is radily suitd for 5V singl supply (or ±1V to ±5V) systms, with low oprating powr dissipation, a traditional strngth of CMOS tchnology. It is offrd with industry standard pin configuration of µ741 and IC7611 typs. Th D1721/D1721G can oprat with rail to rail larg signal input and output voltags with rlativly high slw rat. Th input voltag can qual to or xcd th positiv and ngativ supply voltags whil th output voltag can swing clos to ths supply voltag rails. Th D1721/D1721G CMOS oprational amplifir uss a 3 gain stag architctur and an improvd frquncy compnsation schm to achiv larg voltag gain, high output driving capaility, and ttr frquncy staility. Th D1721/D1721G is intrnally compnsatd for unity gain staility. This compnsation producs a clan singl pol roll off in th gain charactristics whil providing for mor than 70 dgrs of phas margin at th unity gain frquncy, rducing or liminating low lvls of oscillation or ringing with many typs of loading conditions. 2. Th D1721/D1721G has complmntary pchannl and n channl input diffrntial stags connctd in paralll to accomplish rail to rail input common mod voltag rang. With diffrnt rangs of common mod input voltag, on or oth of th two diffrntial stags is activ. Th transition twn th two input stags taks plac at aout 1.5V low th positiv supply voltag. Input offst voltag trimming on th D1721/D1721G is mad whn th input voltag is symmtrical to th supply voltags, this intrnal transition switching dos not affct a varity of applications such as an invrting amplifir or noninvrting amplifir with a gain largr than 2.5 (5V opration), whr th common mod voltag dos not mak xcursions aov this switching point. If th oprational amplifir is connctd as a unity gain uffr, and full input and/or output rail to rail rang is usd, thn provision should mad to allow for slight input offst voltag variations. ikwis th output has pushpull(sourcsink) output stags working in tandm to provid full (s not 4) rail to rail output. In addition, th sourc and sink currnts ar dsignd to provid symmtrical drivs to th load. 3. Th input ias and offst currnts ar ssntially input protction diod rvrs ias lakag currnts, and ar typically lss than 0.01p at room tmpratur. This low input ias currnt assurs that th analog signal from th sourc will not distortd y input ias currnts. Normally, this xtrmly high input impdanc of gratr than Ω would limitd y th sourc impdanc which would limit th nod impdanc. Howvr, for applications whr sourc impdanc is also vry high, it may ncssary to limit nois and hum pickup through propr ground shilding. 4. Th output stag consists of class B complmntary output drivrs, capal of driving a low rsistanc load to ithr supply rail. Th output voltag swing is limitd y th drain to sourc onrsistanc of th output transistors as dtrmind y th ias circuitry, and th valu of th load rsistor. Whn connctd in th voltag followr configuration, th oscillation rsistant fatur, comind with th rail to rail input and output fatur, maks an ffctiv analog signal uffr for mdium to high sourc impdanc snsors, transducrs, and othr circuit ntworks. 5. Th D1721/D1721G oprational amplifir has n dsignd to provid static discharg protction. Intrnally, th dsign has n carfully implmntd to minimiz latch up. Howvr, car must xrcisd whn handling th dvic to avoid strong static filds that may dgrad a diod junction, causing incrasd input lakag currnts. Th usr is advisd to powr up th circuit for, or simultanously with any input voltags applid, and to limit input voltags not to xcd 0.3V of th powr supply voltag lvls at all tims, including during powr up and powr down cycls. 6. Th D1721/D1721G, with its micropowr opration, offrs nfits in rducd powr supply rquirmnts, lss nois coupling and currnt spiks, lss thrmally inducd drift, ttr ovrall rliaility du to lowr slf hating, and lowr input ias currnt. It rquirs practically no warm up tim as th chip junction hats up to 0.1 C or lss aov amint tmpratur undr most oprating conditions. 7.
