Ths ar th switch-mod powr supply, its high-frquncy oscillator, th high-voltag H-bridg lamp drivr and its low-frquncy oscillator. Th drivs E lamps of up to 50nF capacitanc to high brightnss; E lamps with capacitancs gratr than 50nF can b drivn, but will b lowr in light output. Th typical rgulatd output voltag that is applid to th E lamp is 220V pak-topak. Th circuit rquirs fw xtrnal componnts; a singl inductor, singl diod, two capacitors and two rsistors. Two of ths rsistors st th frquncy for two intrnal oscillators. Unlik othr E lamp drivrs, th dos not rquir an xtrnal protction rsistor in sris with th E lamp. Th oprats ovr a 2.0V to 6.5V supply voltag rang. A rgulatd, low-powr sourc can supply th low quiscnt currnt of th. Th inductor may b drivn from an indpndnt, unrgulatd supply voltag in dual supply applications. An intrnal circuit shuts down th switching rgulator whn th lamp driv voltag rachs 220V pak-to-pak. Th inductor provids th voltag boost ndd by mans of inductiv flyback. Th intrnal MOSFET switch altrnatly opns and closs th ground connction for th inductor at th X pin. Whn this intrnal switch opns, th inductor potntial will forward-bias th catch diod and th currnt will pass through th storag capacitor, charging it to a high voltag.
