D2321/D2321B/D2321 UTR OW VOS EPD DU CMOS NOG VOTGE COMPRTOR GENER DESCRIPTION Th D2321/D2321B/D2321 is a monolithic Prcision Dual Voltag Comparator, ach having intgratd dual complmntary output drivrs. It is constructd using advancd silicon gat CMOS tchnology. Ky faturs of th D2321/D2321B/D2321 includ vry high input impdanc, vry low offst voltag utilizing onchip trim (EPD lctronictrimming) tchnology, flxil multipl output configurations and fast rspons tim with small ovrdriv voltag. It is dsignd for ultra low lvl signal dtction from high impdanc sourcs. For many applications th D2321/D2321B/D2321 can liminat an input amplification stag, a prcision input ias stag, a signal lvl shift stag and an output uffr stag, and do th ntir jo from low lvl input signal dtction to high output drivr all on a singl chip. Th input voltag includs ground, making this voltag comparator idal for singl supply (5V) or dual supply (± 5V) powrd systms. For dual supply applications, GND pin is connctd to th most ngativ supply instad of Ground (V). Th ngativ supply voltag can at any valu twn V and 5V. Each voltag comparator is individually trimmd at th factory for minimum offst voltag at ground voltag potntial, making th D2321/ D2321B/D2321 at its st offst voltag and rady to compar vry low signal lvl voltags at or nar ground potntial. Typically a signal lss than 1mV can rsolvd and dtctd rlialy without rquiring amplification. Snsor or dtctor signals with signal powr as low as 04pW (4 x Watt) can radily dtctd. Du to th complmntary natur of th two outputs, only on output is activ at any a givn tim, xcpt for a limitd crossovr tim. Whn OUT (sink output) is activ ON, th OUT pin is sinking currnt and th OUT H pin is OFF and in high impdanc mod. Convrsly, if OUT H pin is ON and sourcing currnt, OUT pin is OFF. To configur pushpull output, simply connct OUT (sink output) pin to OUT H pin. Sinc ach voltag comparator has its own complmntary outputs, ach comparator can configurd to hav a diffrnt output typ. For xampl, on comparator output can connctd as Opn Drain output whil th othr comparator can wird as pushpull output. If usd to driv capacitiv loads, th output DC currnt lvls ar at a vry low lvl, at ssntially lakag currnt lvls, which can a powr saving fatur. Th D2321/D2321B/D2321 can dtct and rsolv vry low voltag lvls at high spd, with littl or no ovrdriv voltag. Compard with othr voltag comparator dvics that rquir 100 mv ovrdriv voltags, or multipl stag circuits that includ input pramp, tc., th D2321/D2321B/D2321 can prform all input to output functions in on dvic with minimal dlay tim and with as low as a 1mV signal. In a printd circuit oard layout, it is suggstd that ths pins, along with no connct (N/C) pins 8 and 9, surroundd with ground tracs to prvnt any possil crosstalk and nois coupling from othr signal sourcs. lthough not rquird for most applications, if ncssary, small valud capacitors of approximatly 1000pF can mountd at ths pins to ground to furthr rduc nois.
