2 IX/A ata heet unctionality Operation: The IX converts digital input (volt free contacts) into one analogue signal. This can be used to increase the input capability of an IQ controller. The resulting analogue channel can be split back into digital signals within the controller (see strategy below). Output ignal: A two position link header can be used to select either a voltage ( to 1 ) or current ( to 2 ma) output signal. The IQ input channel must be set appropriately. trategy: A strategy similar to that shown below should be set up in the controller. In order to avoid this, the strategy has extra modules to eliminate the transient values. The strategy in the diagram compares the sensor s current value with its previous value and if the value is not changing it is passed to the A to function module where it is decoded to set internal inputs 1 to to the same status as the physical input to the IX s. This filters unwanted changes due to the response of the input. aster operation of the inputs on post IQ2 controllers (IQeco, IQ3, IQ) requires a more complex strategy. The input value requires to be steady for 1 second before being decoded. Power connection: The IX s power connection is made to a 2 dc (e.g. IQ s auxiliary supply) or 2 ac isolated supply using the and 2 connectors. onnectors: 1 part screw terminals for.5 to 2.5mm 2 cross section area (2 to 1 AW) cable are used for inputs, outputs, and power connection. 4 IX/A ata heet Installation The IX should be installed inside a protective case close to the IQ controller. The unit is UL rated as UL916 listed accessory to open energy management equipment. The procedure involves: mount IX in panel wire HA equipment input to IX set IX output signal ( or I) if required close panel switch off power to controller configure IQ (see strategy above) set IQ analogue input channel to match IX output switch on IQ signal switch on 2 supply to IX wire IX to controller switch on HA equipment supply ensure HA equipment supply is switched off check IX operation The installation procedure is covered by IX/A Installation Instructions T2651. onnections able size.5 to 2.5 mm 2 (2 to 1 AW), u only IQ onnections Note that the controller 2 dc auxiliary supply or an external 2 ac or dc supply should be used to supply the IX not the current input supply (except for IQ3 with IX in voltage mode - see below).
