The material can be any substance able to reflect the major portion of a low magnitude acoustic pulse of sound. This equipment is 4 to 20 ma loop powered and therefore has the inherent constraint of being powered by the first 4 ma of the input current. The so-called output current is the controlled regulation of input current within the limits of 4 ma and 20 ma. The monitoring of current proportional to measured distance is usually by sensing the potential difference across a stable resistor connected in series with any one point in the current loop.

Performance Criteria A During testing, normal performance within the specification limits Performance Criteria B During testing, temporary degradation, or loss of function or performance which is selfrecovering. Performance Criteria C During testing, temporary degradation, or loss of function or performance which requires operator intervention or system reset occurs. The measurement uncertainty was 3.7 db. Refer to Appendix B, Graphs 1 and *Harmonic Current Emissions: IEC Not applicable, as EUT is DC powered. 4.4 *Voltage Fluctuations and Flicker: IEC Not applicable, as EUT is DC powered. 5.0 IMMUNITY TESTS RESULTS 5.1 Immunity to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): IEC Discharge Points The EUT was exposed to at least 200 contact discharges at the following points: Indirect contact discharges were applied to the vertical coupling plane (VCP) with the VCP placed along each of the sides of the EUT. One side of the EUT was directly exposed to the transmitting antenna. Result: Output current varied slightly during the test. Complied with Criteria A. Conclusion: The EUT complied with the performance criteria. 5.3 Immunity to Electrical Fast Transients: IEC Transients were indirectly coupled onto the power and signal cables with the capacitive coupling clamp. The impulses were directly injected in the terminal block. 5 pulses of each polarity were applied at each of the voltage levels shown for the appropriate severity. Conclusion: The EUT complied with the performance criteria. 5.5 Immunity to Conducted RF Disturbance: IEC The EUT mains cable was injected with an RF voltage of 3 Vrms, modulated with 1 khz 80% AM, over the frequency range of 150 khz to 80 MHz using a CDN (coupling decoupling network) for the power cable. The communication cables (O/P cable) were injected directly onto the shield. Result: Output current varied slightly during test. Complied with Criteria A. Conclusion: The EUT complied with the performance criteria. 5.6 Immunity to Voltage Dips and Interruptions: IEC Not applicable, as EUT is DC powered. 6.0 CONCLUSION The LP Series Ultrasonic Transmitter Remote Amplifier and Transducer Model LP20-R, was tested on behalf of Hawk Measurement Systems Pty Ltd, in accordance with the requirements of EN The test samples complied with the emission requirements of AS/NZS2064. The test samples also complied with the manufacturer s criteria for immunity performance.
