Thank you everyone for your donations and also for buying our donated stock. I made out like a bandit, your trash was my treasure. Setting-up went pretty well but putting the tables away was more challenging every tiny person stayed to help and I injured Kathy s toes, sorry again Kathy. I think everyone wanted to haul off their booty. I wanted to talk about how charitable everyone is: donations to the guild, helping with community service. Sims, Alzheimer s and Wounded Warrior and their caregivers. All of these groups our touched by all of your impressive hard work. Thank you, I truly feel proud to be a part of such an ambitious caring group, you should feel proud too. September is the long awaited. Barbara Black speaker with trunk show and classes. I missed the eclipse except on TV, it poured rain at my house and it was hard to tell if the darkness was anything more than clouds. I so want cooler weather with less humidity. Dress comfortably and think cool thoughts. Congratulations, Kiki, on winning the Anna, sewing machine. I mailed my money to Ann Van Zant for the November Quilt Retreat. I hope to see you there. A lot of members are busy working on the Quilt Show, with ribbons, pictures, and booking booths. I love this year s quilt, thank you, great job. Be Brave and enter a quilt or wall hanging your talent needs to be recognized. Stay safe and in stitches, Nancy Davis, President On the loss of her Husband. *CHECK OUT THE WEBPAGE ALSO!!! >

Paducah, KY American Quilter's Society, the largest quilting membership organization in the world, is pleased to announce a second AQS QuiltWeek in Paducah, Kentucky, starting in The Fall AQS QuiltWeek Paducah will be held at the Paducah Convention & Expo Center, September 13 16,
7 7 QUILT SHOW NEWS FEBRUARY 16 AND 17, 2018 Our show seems far away. But if you are making quilts for the show, time is moving fast. We hope that many of you are going to enter the show. We like to Wow our show attendees with beautiful quilts. Last year you outdid yourselves we had about 130 quilts. Boy! Did Sarah have to scurry to find places for them. But we did it. We especially want you to consider our show challenge and make a red and white quilt. As an added incentive for you, Sarah has been talking with the director at the Center for the Arts and they want to do an exhibit of our red and white quilts! (this will be next summer) So quilt away ladies! Remember that this is in honor of our 40 th anniversary. Our Opportunity Quilt is ready and again we have a beautiful quilt. We previewed the quilt at the August meeting. We will soon have it on our website. Thanks go to the members of the Sisterhood Bee. They are Connie Bernhard, Aking Osborne, Sandy Sturgis, Helen Russo, Patricia McLendon, Mary Nelson, Dreena Reed, Sue Gulkis, Linda Kelley, and Jo-Ellen Rogers. It was quilted by Jo-Ellen Rogers. Our quilt is named Our Family Tree. In September you will receive your quilt tickets and a card depicting the quilt. Connie Bernhard has agreed to handle tickets this year. Please do your all and sell tickets. Remember that this is one of our money makers. Our ribbons are in the process of being made. Sarah Hutton has ram-rodded this project and only she can tell us all of the people who have had a hand in making them. You have heard the phrase that it takes a village to raise a child; in our case, it has taken a posse to complete the ribbons. Other team members of the Quilt Show committees are: Volunteers: Mary Oliver, Boutique: Diane Hiller, Silent Auction: Patricia McLendon, Vendors: Jo-Ellen Rogers. Needed still will be a Hospitality Chairman who can handle our hospitality room, and someone to work on our Show Program. We heed a member who can coordinate our efforts in obtaining advertisers. In the past our advertisers paid for our program. We hope that is the case again this year. As you are thinking of quilts to enter into the show, please think of items you could make for our Boutique. We need lots of items to tempt show attendees. Lastly, we would like to thank all the ladies who braved a rainy day and attended Ruthie s show. Our group was the largest of the attendees and we won two machines. One (the Amelia, by Baby Loc) will be raffled during our show and the other (Annie, by Baby Loc) was raffled at our August meeting and was won by Kiki. As always, keep stitchin, Beverly and Jo-Ellen REMEMBER QUILT REGISTRATION FORMS TO BEVERLY BY DECEMBER 15 T
