All items need to be priced prior to the meeting. Items may be displayed on table in front of member (if a larger area is needed please contact Tina Seevers to ensure table space). At the end of the night, if member does not want to take items that did not sell they will be donated to charity. RAFFLE TICKETS Available NOW! $1.00 per chance get your tickets now! It will take many volunteer hours to make this successful. 5 Nifty Needles Quilt Guild, Paris, KY April 24, 2018 Minutes Guild Vice President Tina Seevers filled in for President Sherry Schneider. Last month s minutes were approved. Refreshments and seasonal decorations were provided by Jerry Ann McFarland, Billye Jean Stigall and Becky Winburn. Ruby Ashcraft won the door prize. Guests were Patsy Rainey, Judy Marwil and Kathy King. Treasurer report: Mary Pochadzay. The current treasury balance is $2, There is $35.49 in the door prize kitty. The past month s expenditures include expenses related to finishing the raffle quilt, and income includes raffle tickets sold. Raffle tickets for the UK theme quilt are now available for purchase. The quilt measures 92 x 77. It was on display at Artwalk on April 20; 74 tickets were sold. Mary moved that we give ten tickets to the Yeisers, who allow us to set up in front of their office. The motion was approved. The quilting on the raffle quilt was done as a donation by Teri Vest. So far we have sold 109 tickets. The quilt will be awarded at the Nifty Needles Quilt Show. A photo of the quilt at Artwalk will be in the newspaper. The Guild Quilt Show to be held at First Christian Church on September 8 will be open from 11:00 to 3:00. Cheryl passed out information sheets to fill out describing the quilts we wish to exhibit. The information provided will be put in a show booklet provided to attendees. Please return this information at the May meeting. She will let us know what help is needed as the Show date draws near. Project manager Teresa Fritz reminded us to return our Pizza Box Challenge projects at retreat, and she will bring them back at the meeting for exchange. In May the Guild will hold a tag sale at the meeting. Bring quilting items you wish to sell, priced. On June 26 th we will have our annual picnic at 6:00. We need a place to have the picnic. If no one volunteers, we will hold the picnic at the Extension office. Food assignments will be discussed at the May meeting. Other proposed meeting programs include Karen Witt showing us how to clean a featherweight machine, a demonstration by Thomas from Sew-A-Lot, a trip to Quilters Square s new shop in Lexington, and a trip to Tay s Cloth Peddlers in Cynthiana. Jackie Gabbard presented the program on wool applique. She brought several examples of various techniques, products, tools, and kits available, and demonstrated the basic techniques.
