1 Silver City Quilt Guild NEWSLETTER Note from the President: Hello Silver City Quilters! October, 2016 Where did the summer go? Hopefully, we are all back into doing more quilting and maybe finishing up some of those UFO s. Unfortunately for me, I wasn t able to attend the Sew-cial but the quilts are fabulous. Thank you all for doing such a wonderful job and for the great pics! I hope you enjoyed our new meeting place. We certainly have a lot of space, great lighting and plenty of parking. I think we ll be very happy there. Janet and Kelly have a great lineup for the rest of the year with Christine Proulx being our next speaker. 2 A big thank you for those of you who have stepped up to volunteer. It is so much appreciated. There are some committees that still need people to Chair. Some of the positions open are: Publicity, Volunteer Coordinator, Program Booklet Design, Floral decorations for Show and ROTC coordinator. We have prepared a detailed list of the major items that need attention for each committee to make it easier. Please consider coming forth to volunteer. Christine will share how her business evolved from an in home on line business to a brick and mortar shop. She'll share store samples and insight as to what's coming up in the quilting industry. And she will be VENDING lots of Calico Cottage goodies!! October Workshop features Bob Harrison and Feather Weight Maintenance - SOLD OUT! 3 Save the date for our next Sewcial Comfort Quilt event...saturday February 25,2017. We had a great time at the last one! Lots of tops were finished and many more are in the works. What would you like for a project at the next event? I was thinking of starting some more Quilts of Valor quilts...what do you think? At the last meeting we donated 10 quilts,1 fleece blanket and a pillow case to the Children's Charter. We had one finished Quilts of Valor quilts which we donated to Debbie Brazil's local Quilts of Valor chapter. Job well done ladies! It s great to be able to go to the web-site to see pictures, nice to know information like When exactly is the Workshop, Where is it, What do I need for a supply list. The quilt show will be held at the West Elementary School at 70 Plympton Road in Plymouth, Massachusetts. There will be over 175 quilts displayed, vendors, a boutique, a white elephant, guild quilt raffle, as well as basket raffles and a door prize. The cost for the quilt show is $8.00 I am attaching our quilt flier. Would you please include this information in your website/newsletter?
