2 January 2009 Page 2 News Briefs Bob French Happy New Year to everyone!!! It looks as if our economy will be considerably slower in all areas, not just the Oil Industry in the coming year. Let s all hope that the powers that be can turn the page and somehow use more wisdom to get us out of this economic mess than they could muster while getting us in it. In the mean time the oil price has bounced up a little from its low, let s hope it continues to move up. We have not had a meeting since November at which time John Postle was the speaker and did a great job on casing wear and hardbanding. We really appreciate him coming out to speak to us. We had a pretty good turn out even though we were competing with the Geothermal Golf Tournament and some other events here in town. We have two events this month, first is our monthly forum meeting which is always our largest turn out for the year for a regular meeting. I expect it will be again because everyone wants to know what the companies are planning this year. There should be about eight of the busiest companies there to talk about their drilling plans for Then on Friday the next day we will have our Steve Thomas Semi-Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at Five Dogs Range. Be sure to get signed up for both of these events, for the meeting call or Patti and for the Shoot, the entry form is included in this newsletter. Help keep the AADE strong this year by attending the regular forum meetings and participating in the Golf tournament in March and the Shoot this month and the one in May. We always appreciate any articles of interest for the newsletter, so if you have something, contact me, Bob French or bfrench@geodf.com. Happy New Year to all. I hope the year to come is prosperous and fulfilling for all! Good health. Too! I would like to first thank you for the Fifty dollars. I put a new pair of shoes on my horse with a little added extra money added to it. My last years of school was in Ojai Ca. Landed in Bakersfield Ca. Cheaper I met Jim Callaway in 1989 been together every since. I have a daughter Crystal she is 26, two grand children Natalie 7, and Nathan 2. I work for Halliburton in the Procurement Dept. Don t know for how long? But I enjoy it, I like the people I work with two and a half days a week. The rest of the time goes to Jim and my horses. Jim will tell you horses mostly. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner with Kyle Callaway my stepson and his family. Christmas was great I cooked a great meal, everyone was full and happy and ready for the after turkey nap! Favorite saying: Any day on a horse is a good day! Any day back on the same horse is an even better day!
