In order to cohere the Hakka in New Taipei City and to help the general public know the Hakka culture, New Taipei City Government established particularly New Taipei City Hakka Museum in Sansia.

4 The reclamation of the Taipei Basin began with people from Jhangjhou and the Hakka. While Taipei area has evolved gradually into a metropolitan place, New Taipei City has the largest number of Hakka immigrants. In order to cohere the Hakka in New Taipei City and to help the general public know the Hakka culture, New Taipei City Government established particularly New Taipei City Hakka Museum in Sansia. In addition to preserving the traditional Hakka culture, the Hakka Museum has made itself vivid with grand views, the overall planning, layout, and activity designs. New Taipei City Hakka Museum has been operated under the theme of metropolitan Hakka and the core value of cultural innovation. New Taipei City Hakka Museum also conducts research, preserves, and popularizes Hakka culture. The Museum is used for both meetings and leisure. It has an Art Gallery, a presentation room, a learning center, a conference room, a square, a regular exhibition room, an artistic corridor, a family reading room, a performance hall, and a restaurant. Sansia Old Street generally refers to the southern section of Minquan St., and is about 200 meters long. The buildings have stood since the earliest period of the Republic of China.

Various words on the building fronts represent surnames, names, and shop names, and their signage is very different to today s. The buildings are equipped with magnificent verandahs, which are the most impressive parts of the buildings along this street. Their decorated archways are rich in culture and they play a valuable role in reminding people of the need to preserve historical relics. The outer walls ofthe buildings arebuilt with red brick, while the inner walls were made of clay. The outer parts of the buildings are decorated with a variety of patterns, and in particular the second-floor windowsills, making them all the more beautiful. There are many with traditional Chinese patterns, animal motifs, and even foreign patterns. 6 The construction of the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum was first proposed in 1988 and opened to the public on November 26, In twelve years, it has become the leading county museum in Taiwan and the first professional museum wholly dedicated to ceramics. In addition to exhibiting the Taiwanese ceramic culture, it also stimulates the public's interest and attention in ceramics. While promoting the Yingge ceramic enterprises and local image, the museum also encourages international culture exchange. Furthermore, we survey, gather, preserve, and maintain Taiwanese ceramic culture for the purposes of research, collection, exhibitions, and education. Behind the museum, the Ceramics Park demonstrates the diversity of ceramics. In addition to providing an outdoor exhibition space for the artworks, it also combines the earth, water, and plants to show the balance between human creations and nature. Different aspects of clay are integrated with the natural environment. The visitors can appreciate the boundless possibilities of ceramics while relaxing. The main plan of the museum and the park incorporates Western building materials and technology. The elements are combined like cells. The space freely extends like a pursue of the Taoist and Buddhist realization of emptiness and truth. In addition, the simple design does not interfere with the art and visitors. This is a kind of background architecture that creates a sense of intimacy between the viewers and the artworks. As a result, the Yingge Ceramics Museum is an exhibition and activity space for ceramic art that has a beautiful architecture to accompany it.
