3 Respnsibilities The member f SLT team respnsible fr e-safety is Mr. Simn Iddn The gvernr respnsible fr e-safety is The e-safety c-rdinatr is Mr. Simn Iddn The e-safety c-rdinatr is respnsible fr leading in the schl and reprting t the Gvernrs(Premises, Health and Safety Cmmittee), delivering staff develpment and training, recrding incidents, reprting any develpments and incidents and liaising with the lcal authrity and external agencies t prmte e-safety within the cllege cmmunity. He/she may als be required t deliver wrkshps fr parents. Internet use and Acceptable Use Plicies (AUP s) All members f the schl cmmunity will sign an Acceptable Use Plicy that is apprpriate t their age and rle. Examples f the AUPS used can be fund in appendix 1. A cpy f the pupil AUP will be sent t parents with a cvering letter/reply slip. This can be fund in appendix 2 AUP s will be reviewed annually. 4 Phtgraphs and Vide The use f phtgraphs and vides is ppular in teaching and learning and shuld be encuraged. Hwever, it is imprtant that cnsent frm parents is gained if vides r phts f pupils are ging t be used. If phts/vides are t be used nline then names f pupils shuld nt be linked t pupils. Staff must be fully aware f the cnsent frm respnses frm parents when cnsidering use f images. This inf is fund n the student s enrlment card. Phts taken by the schl are subject t the Data Prtectin act. Phts and vides taken by parents/carers. Parents and carers are permitted t take phts/vides f their wn children in schl events. They are requested nt t share phts/vides frm schl events n scial netwrking sites if ther pupils appear in the backgrund. The parental letter cncerning AUP s includes a paragraph cncerning psting phts n scial netwrking sites (see appendix 2) Phts fr persnal use such as thse taken by parents/carers are nt subject t the Data Prtectin Act. Mbile phnes and ther devices All mbile phnes shuld be switched t silent whilst n the schl premises. Pupil phnes fund t cntravene this shuld be cnfiscated and sent straight t the schl ffice in a sealed envelpe that has the pupil name and class written n. Cnfiscated phnes can be cllected at the end f the schl day. There may be times when sme f the features f mbile phnes may be beneficial t the learning activities in a lessn (eg pupils may wish t capture phts/vides f an experiment). In such cases mbile devices can be used nce permissin has been granted by the teacher. If a member f staff suspects that a mbile phne has been misused within the schl then it shuld be cnfiscated but staff shuld nt search the phne. The incident shuld be passed directly t SLT wh will deal the matter in line with nrmal schl prcedures. 4 P a g e

5 Use f s Pupils and staff shuld nly use addresses that have been issued by the schl fr schl business. Pupils and staff are advised t maintain an alternative persnal e- mail address fr use at hme in nn-schl related matters. Security and passwrds Passwrds shuld be changed regularly. The system will infrm users when the passwrd is t be changed. Pupils and staff shuld never share passwrds and staff must never let pupils use a staff lgn. Staff must always lck the PC if they are ging t leave it unattended (the picture mute r picture freeze ptin n a prjectr will allw an image t remain n the screen and als allw a PC t be lcked ). All users shuld be aware that the ICT system is filtered and mnitred. Reprting All breaches f the e-safety plicy need t be recrded by the Netwrk Manager and reprted t Gvernrs. The details f the user, date and incident shuld be reprted. Incidents which may lead t child prtectin issues need t be passed n t the Designated teacher immediately it is their respnsibility t decide n apprpriate actin nt the class teachers. Incidents which are nt child prtectin issues but may require SLT interventin (eg cyberbullying) shuld be reprted t SLT in the same day. Allegatins invlving staff shuld be reprted t the Headteacher. If the allegatin is ne f abuse then it shuld be handled accrding t the DFE dcument titled Dealing with allegatins f abuse against teachers and ther staff. If necessary the lcal authrity s LADO shuld be infrmed. Evidence f incidents must be preserved and retained.
