2 Respnsibilities The member f Executive Leadership Team (ELT) respnsible fr e-safety is Claire Gaskin The gvernr respnsible fr e-safety is Carl Steventn The e-safety c-rdinatr is Ruth Suter The e-safety c-rdinatr is respnsible fr leading the e-safety Cmmittee, as a subgrup f the Safer Schl Cmmittee, delivering staff develpment and training, reprting incidents t the Executive Headteacher, reprting any develpments and incidents and liaising with the lcal authrity and external agencies t prmte e-safety within the schl cmmunity. E-Safety Cmmittee (Part f Safer Schl Grup) The e-safety cmmittee will meet nce per term and will invite a representative f the fllwing grups: ELT, SLT, teaching staff, pupils. Internet use and Acceptable Use Plicies (AUP s) All members f the schl cmmunity will sign an Acceptable Use Plicy that is apprpriate t their age and rle. See Appendices. A cpy f the pupil AUP will be sent t parents with a cvering letter/reply slip. This can be fund in the appendices. All AUP s will be stred centrally in case f breaches f the e-safety plicy. 3 3 P a g e Phtgraphs and Vide The use f phtgraphs and vides is ppular in teaching and learning and shuld be encuraged. Hwever, it is imprtant that cnsent frm parents is gained if vides r phts f pupils are ging t be used. If phts/vides are t be used nline then names f pupils shuld nt be linked t images f pupils. Staff must be fully aware f the cnsent frm respnses frm parents when cnsidering use f images. Phtgraph cnsent frms are cmpleted n admissin int schl. Staff shuld always use a schl camera t capture images and shuld nt use their persnal devices. See als Scial Media Plicy and Use f Mbile Phnes and Digital Phtgraphy Plicy. Use f s Pupils and staff shuld nly use the schl system fr schl related matters. Pupils and staff are advised t maintain an alternative persnal address fr use at hme in nn-schl related matters. Security and passwrds Passwrds shuld be changed regularly. The subject leader will infrm users when the passwrd is t be changed. Pupils and staff shuld never share passwrds and staff must never let pupils use a staff lgn. Staff shuld lck the PC if they are ging t leave it unattended. All users shuld be aware that the ICT system is filtered and mnitred. Data strage Only encrypted USB pens are t be used in schl. Staff need t risk assess any data that they plan t temprarily stre n a USB pen t ensure that any ptential lss has minimal impact. Reprting Any breaches f the e-safety plicy need t be reprted t the Executive Headteacher fr recrding. The details f the user, date and incident shuld be reprted. Evidence f incidents will be preserved and retained. Incidents which may lead t child prtectin issues need t be passed n t the safeguarding designated lead r deputy designated lead immediately. The curriculum will cver hw pupils shuld reprt incidents (eg Cep buttn, trusted adult, Childline)

4 T cntinue e-safety messages at hme, when a child shares their use f an abve-age cmputer game, media site r scial media with a member f staff, this will be reprted t a member f SLT and the e-safety c-rdinatr. The parent will be infrmed t ensure that they were aware, the availability f e-safety advice n the schl website will be shared, and a cpy f the AUP dcument can be reviewed if necessary (see appendix). Infringements and sanctins Whenever a student r staff member infringes the e-safety Plicy r AUP, the final decisin n the level f sanctin will be at the discretin f the Executive Headteacher. Safeguarding actins If inapprpriate web material is accessed: Infrm e-safety c-rdinatr wh will ensure apprpriate technical supprt filters the site Infrm the Executive Headteacher Other safeguarding actins: 1. Secure and preserve any evidence 2. Infrm the sender s service prvider if a system ther than the schl system is used. Scial netwrking Pupils: Pupils are nt permitted t use scial netwrking sites within schl. Pupils shuld nt use their wn, Internet enabled devices in schl. This includes at after schl events such as a schl disc and any ther event where a parent is nt directly supervising their child s use f the device. The schl reserves the right t cnfiscate any device used in these circumstances. If cnfiscatin is necessary then the device will be stred in the schl safe and a parent will be cntacted t cllect the device. A planned, brad and prgressive e-safety educatin prgramme that is fully embedded fr all children, in all aspects f the curriculum, in all years. b). Regularly auditing, review and revisin f the ICT curriculum c). E-safety resurces that are varied and apprpriate and use new technlgies t deliver e-safety messages in an engaging and relevant manner d). 5 Additinally, a). Pupils are taught in all lessns t be critically aware f the materials / cntent they access n-line and are guided t validate the accuracy f infrmatin b). There are many pprtunities fr pupils t develp a gd understanding f research skills and the need t avid plagiarism and uphld cpyright regulatins c). The schl actively prvides systematic pprtunities fr pupils / students t develp the skills f safe and discriminating n-line behaviur d). Pupils are taught t acknwledge cpyright and intellectual prperty rights in all their wrk. Staff a). E-safety training is an integral part f Child Prtectin / Safeguarding training and vice versa b). All staff have an up t date awareness f e-safety matters, the current schl e-safety plicy and practices and child prtectin / safeguarding prcedures c). All new staff receive e-safety training as part f their inductin prgramme, ensuring that they fully understand the schl e-safety plicy and Acceptable Use Plicy d). Staff are encuraged t undertake additinal e-safety training e). The culture f the schl ensures that staff supprt each ther in sharing knwledge and gd practice abut e-safety f). The schl will research and understand gd practice that is taking place in ther schls g). Gvernrs are ffered the pprtunity t undertake training. Parents and the wider cmmunity Peridically, the schl, supprted by apprpriate utside agencies, will ffer wrkshps t parents t ensure they are well infrmed abut current e-safety messages t keep their child safe nline. Links t e-safety resurces are available n the schl website. The e-safety crdinatr can be cntacted thrugh the schl ffice when a parent requires specific advice. 9 Acceptable Use Statement Fr staff and adult users The cmputer systems within schl are made available t students, staff, and ther adults t further their educatin and t enhance prfessinal activities including teaching, research, administratin and management. The Schl's Acceptable Use Plicies have been drawn up t prtect all parties the students, the staff, ther adults and the Schl and are reviewed n a regular basis. Staff and ther adults wishing t use the Schl's cmputer systems, r Internet shuld sign a cpy f this Acceptable Use statement and return it t the ICT C-rdinatr fr apprval. 11 AUP Guidance ntes fr schls and gvernrs The plicy aims t ensure that any cmmunicatins technlgy (including cmputers, mbile devices and mbile phnes etc.) is used t supprting learning withut creating unnecessary risk t users.
