1 AUV System Descriptin Railway usage authrizatin system (called AUV, by its abbreviatin in Spanish) is a Safe Train Cntrl (STC) system prvided by Alta Rail Technlgy (ART). AUV system s structure is based in multiple cmputers distributed sftware, cnnected t a lcal netwrk, which allws the system t accmplish real-time centralized cntrl, mnitring and train dispatch bjectives. AUV system architecture schematic is shwn in figure 1. Detailed specificatins abut thse main blcks are shwn next. 1

2 AUV System Descriptin -AFE 1. On-bard cabin equipment. On-bard equipment blck is, essentially, a grup f hardware cmpnents which implements cmmunicatin between train Driver and the OCC. Thse cmpnents are installed in rder t sense and reprt sme physical parameters t the OCC, where sensed values are stred in a database. Main On-bard equipment n the train are: 2 OBC terminals (On Bard Cmputer) with keybard. MCF (Cmmunicatin Mdule). DAQ (Data Acquisitin Mdule). EOT device (End Of Train). OBC device is a heavy-duty Human Machine Interface (HMI) installed in driver s cabin fr crew-occ interactin purpses. In rder t reach higher safety levels thrugh redundancy, it is recmmended t have tw OBC units per lcmtive. A screensht f OBC interface is shwn in Figure 2. Besides, OBC device stres the system s safety algrithms, which takes parameters such as GPS psitining, OCC authrizatin and calculates electrnic fences and braking curves. 4 AUV System Descriptin -AFE This DAQ device, wrking as an actuatr, als receives instructins frm the OBC in rder t activate lcmtive brakes in case f breach f circulatin authrizatin.. MCF mdule is a heavy-duty mdem, suitable fr hard railway envirnment usage. This mdule implements a redundant cmmunicatin channel with the OCC ver 2 GPRS (r 1 GPRS and 1 Iridium) links. Besides, MCF device receives signals sent by the EOT device, in rder t prve train integrity. EOT device is intended t be installed in the last cnvy wagn fr train integrity verifying purpses. In rder t test cnvy integrity status this device senses wagns pressure tube status. In case f ut-f-range pressure sensing, r distance t last wagn larger than expected, this device sends warning signals t the OBC triggering alarms (sent t OCC) and activating emergency train brakes. 2. CCO cmpnents. OCC cmpnents are, mst f all, sftware cmpnents which implement dispatched trains management and tracking. This OCC sftware is cmpsed by the fllwing mdules: Synptic panel Speed Restrictins System GIS panel Data inquiry interface. The Synptic panel (Fig 4) is a real-time train lcatin tl fr tracking each cnvy in all f the virtual circuits in which the railway system is divided. This tl is used by OCC staff fr railway usage authrizatin assigning. Supprt vehicles usage, such as Rad-rail vehicles, inspectin r maintenance vehicles, is cvered by this blck as well, and it is mandatry fr thse vehicles t use a smartphne APP t receive railway sectin usage authrizatins frm the OCC. 5
