To miter each corner, fold the Fabric A block on a diagonal, wrong side together.

Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 1), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric.

Repeat this step with the remaining corners to complete one Unit 1 block. Press the Unit 1 block and borders (Fig. 2).

Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3).

Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam.

3 PAGE 4 of 6 Repeat Step 1 to sew one 3 ½ x 13 Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A square, making sure to stop and start ¼ away from each end of the Fabric A square. To miter each corner, fold the Fabric A block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 1). Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 1), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼ seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to complete one Unit 1 block. Press the Unit 1 block and borders (Fig. 2). Place one 3 ½ Fabric A square on the top left corner of one Unit 1 block, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam. Follow Figure 5 for the seam direction to add a 3 ½ Fabric A square to each of the remaining corners of the Unit 1 block to make one Block One square (Fig. 6). Repeat Steps 1-5 to make a second Block One square. Repeat Steps 1-5 and follow Figures 7-21 for fabric placement and block amounts to make the remaining blocks. Sew together five 2 ½ Fabric T squares and four 2 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric S strips to make one horizontal sashing (Fig. 22). Repeat to make six horizontal sashing rows total.

Sub-cut the strips into forty-nine 2 ½ x 9 ½ strips. Fabric T Black Mini Rings ¾ yard Cut two 2 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into thirty 2 ½ squares. Cut seven 2 ½ x WOF strips for the binding. Backing Red Dots and Waves ¾ yards Cut two 65 x WOF strips. Sew together and trim to make one 65 x 76 back. Block Assembly Center one 3 ½ x 13 Fabric B strip on one side of the 3 ½ Fabric A square and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of the Fabric A square and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side. Do not press until the entire block is assembled.

Sew together five 2 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric S strips, one Block Five square, one Block Six square, one Block Seven square and one Block Eight square, alternating the sashing and blocks to make Row Two. Sew together five 2 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric S strips, one Block Nine square, one Block Ten square, one Block Eleven square and one Block Twelve square, alternating the sashing and blocks to make Row Three. Sew together five 2 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric S strips, one Block Thirteen square, one Block One square, one Block Fourteen square and one Block Fifteen square, alternating the sashing and blocks to make Row Four. Sew together five 2 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric S strips, one Block Three square, one Block Sixteen square, one Block Six square and one Block Seven square, alternating the sashing and blocks to make Row Five. Sew together six horizontal sashing rows and five block rows in numerical order, alternating them to make the quilt top. Center one 2 ½ x 65 Fabric N strip on one side of the quilt top and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of the quilt top and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side. Do not press until the entire block is assembled. Layer and quilt as desired. Sew the seven 2 ½ x WOF Fabric T strips together, end to end with 45 seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. Bind as desired.
