From the Border Stripe - ream (), fussy cut: (2) 4 ½ x 60 LOF strips, each centered on the pumpkins/ flowers strip. (2) 4 ½ x 24 LOF strips, each centered on the pumpkins/ flower strip. Runner Sewing Instructions 1. Place (1) 2 ½ Fabric square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½ Fabric square, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼ away from the sewn seam. 2. Follow Figure 3 for the seam direction to add a 2 ½ Fabric square to the upper right corner, a 2 ½ Fabric E square to the lower left corner and a 2 ½ Fabric F to the lower right corner of the 4 ½ Fabric square to make (1) Unit 1 block (Fig. 4). 3. Repeat Steps 1-2 to make (4) Unit 1 blocks total. 4. Repeat Steps 1-2 and use Figures 5-7 for fabric identification and location to make (4) Unit 2 blocks, (4) Unit 3 blocks and (4) Unit 4 blocks. 4 5. Sew (2) 2 ½ Fabric F squares and (2) 2 ½ Fabric E squares together to make (1) Unit 5 block (Fig. 8). Repeat to make a second Unit 5 block. Page 2 9. 5 Page 13 Runner Top ssembly (Refer to the Figure 17 while assembling.) 13. Sew (1) Block One, (2) Block Twos and (1) Block One together, in that order, to make the enter Block. Pay attention to the orientation of the blocks. 14. enter (1) 4 ½ x 24 Fabric strip on one side of the enter Block and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. O NOT TRIM THE EXESS. Repeat with the opposite side. 16. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 16), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼ seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the runner top. 15. Repeat Step 14 to sew (1) 4 ½ x 60 Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the enter Block, making sure to stop and start ¼ away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the enter Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 16). Fig. 16 Quilt Top Folded on the iagonal 17. Layer and quilt as desired. 18. Sew the (4) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric H strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 19. Bind as desired. Fig. 17
