Sew one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric E strip to one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric F strip, short end to short end, to create one side border (Fig. 1).

Sew one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric E strip to one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric F strip, short end to short end, to create one top/bottom border strip (Fig. 2).

Sew one top/bottom border from Step 2 to the top and bottom of the 6 ½ Fabric A square to make one 10 ½ Block One square (Fig. 3).

Sew one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric C strip to one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric D strip, short end to short end, to create one side border (Fig. 4).

Sew one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric C strip to one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric D strip, short end to short end, to create one top/bottom border strip (Fig. 5).

3 STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 3 of 5 Sewing Sew using a ¼ seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Press seams towards the darker fabric, unless otherwise indicated. Blocks 1. Sew one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric E strip to one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Fabric F strip, short end to short end, to create one side border (Fig. 1). Repeat to make thirty side borders. 2. Sew one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric E strip to one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric F strip, short end to short end, to create one top/bottom border strip (Fig. 2). Repeat to make thirty top/bottom borders total. 3. Sew one side border from Step 1 to each side of one 6 1/2 Fabric A square. Sew one top/bottom border from Step 2 to the top and bottom of the 6 ½ Fabric A square to make one 10 ½ Block One square (Fig. 3). Repeat to make fifteen Block One squares total. Sew one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric C strip to one 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 Fabric D strip, short end to short end, to create one top/bottom border strip (Fig. 5). Repeat to make thirty top/bottom borders total. 6. Sew one side border from Step 4 to each side of one 6 1/2 Fabric B square. Sew one top/bottom border from Step 5 to the top and bottom of the 6 ½ Fabric B square to make one 10 ½ Block Two square (Fig. 6). Repeat to make fifteen Block Two squares total. Sew together three Block Two squares and two Block One squares to make Row Two (Fig. 8). Repeat to make Row Four and Row Six. Fig. 7 Fig. 8

STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 4 of 5 9. Sew the six rows together, in numerical order, to complete the 50 ½ x 60 ½ quilt top (Fig. 9). 10. Sew one 2 x 60 ½ Fabric E strip to each side of the quilt top.

Sew together one 3" x 78" Fabric G strip and one 3 ¾" x 78" Fabric G strip lengthwise with the black scallops edge against the floral edge to make one 6 ¼" x 78" side border.

4 STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 4 of 5 9. Sew the six rows together, in numerical order, to complete the 50 ½ x 60 ½ quilt top (Fig. 9). 10. Sew one 2 x 60 ½ Fabric E strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 x 53 ½ Fabric E strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 10). Fig. 9 Fig Sew together one 3" x 78" Fabric G strip and one 3 ¾" x 78" Fabric G strip lengthwise with the black scallops edge against the floral edge to make one 6 ¼" x 78" side border. Repeat to make a second side border. 12. Sew together one 3" x 68" Fabric G strip and one 3 ¾" x 68" Fabric G strip lengthwise with the black scallops edge against the floral edge to make the 6 ¼" x 68" top border. Repeat to make the bottom border. 13. Center one 6 ¼ x 78 side border on one side of the quilt top, pin in place with the floral against the quilt top. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of quilt top and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with opposite side. 14. Repeat Step 13 to sew one 6 1/2 x 68 border to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to start and stop ¼ away from each end of the quilt top. To miter each corner, fold the quilt top on a diagonal, wrong sides together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 11). Fig. 11 Quilt Top Folded on the Diagonal

STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 5 of 5 15. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 11), draw a 45-degree line out to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line.

Sew the two 84 x WOF strips together and trim to make one 74 x 84 backing piece. 17. Press the quilt top and backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete. Binding 18. Cut the ends of the eight binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make one continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together. 19. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place Studio e Fabrics
