Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 10). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance to make one 1 strip (Fig. 11). Repeat to make a second 1 strip. Sew one 1 ½ x 3 ½ Fabric strip to the top of one 1 strip lengthwise to make one 2 block (Fig. 12). Repeat to make a second 2 block. Place one 2 ½ Fabric S square on the right side of one 2 ½ x 3 ½ Fabric strip, right sides together. Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner. Sew the two Quilt alf s together, rotating the bottom unit 180 degrees, to make the Center lock. 41. Sew one 2 x 72 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the Center lock. Sew one 2 x 63 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center lock to make the quilt top. 42. Layer and quilt as desired. 43. Sew the seven 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding.
